Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

What will happen to the Last Act?

The company wants a faster turn. This means selling off product at regular price, and first markdowns. So Last Act, which was always too big, will never be as big again, which will eventually result in bigger profit.
I don't have any energy left to care about this company anymore but I can’t break away so I’m still interested in what will happen with Last Act. I'm not sure I agree with the person quoted above... Any thoughts?

How are the pilot sites for Market at Macy’s doing? Need more ESSENTIAL items to sell and mix with some of the current stock plus make it more interesting. Customers want variety and good value for their money or they will go elsewhere. Macy’s needs to actually have someone on the selling floor that is available to help customers. I’ve seen way too many times customers looking for someone anyone to help and it’s a shame.

What they need to do is get new, fresh brands in. You cannot keep buying and merchandising the same INC, Alfani, Karen Scott, Style and Co, over and over again with not much differentiation from the last seasons goods. I mean at my store we get a ton of folded Karen Scott shirts coming in at $12.99 full price to be marked down 2 weeks later at $7.99 and hung up, then a few weeks later, price goes back up and thus folded again.

Who cares about Last Act!! Macy’s has bigger problems than the turnover of Last Act. Maybe design and buy product that will sell!! I don’t know how many times I see product come in that has gone to Last Act and they deliver it AGAIN 6 months later or mark it back up. It’s a BAD business model and Macy’s is feelin it right now!!!

To not have as much Last Act, it requires the company to actually sell goods that customers would want. Don't hold your breath. There are many great brands out there...none of them at Macy's. Macy's is old, tired, and cheap looking.,
