So they say furloughed ok in that perspective, hold on let me tell you all what my experience is I have worked beside excellent management team that knew what was going on so I joined a team that later down the road 2years later they have no clue,so in my profession of joining this whole monopoly I say to myself I'm doing pretty good, and of course family comes first , so doing my job everything is going well all coworkers and all then later that next year everything crumbles, so new management some managers are good and helpful some dont do nothing but argue, and say your wrong ok ,know being a gang leader so controlling a crew with inoperative control by management so ,call them up and go through ranks and extra. So know you have somebody telling you to do something which you have already done while a General Forman is watching cat videos on his cell phone so, period in my head what's going on everyday same thing now my head and everyone else I let it slide and dont say nothing, so 2and part who are we as workers running around worried about getting shot or stab ,so in all in a nutshell they dont care at all until someone gets hurt or dies , now going on with a so called peak season no its rush rush ,rush we do are best now same thing no lower managers have a clue and really show us employees a good work ethic. Ok back to peak season same scenario GF covers his butt by answering a few calls and thinks he knows what's going on now this share holder garbage take every company's money and work at 60 percent you are trash it's all free money till any employee gets hurt or under 60 percent u have the power to give orders and lay workers off and hurt their families, now when is the government or CEO or owner going to wake up and say enough but that's not how it works ,so Cut as many people you want to and grab all the money you can and direct orders and follow the leader on all other railroad besides BNSF that guy is smart and looks out for his employees and in a safe environment, now you have managment that came from car side and GF that watch cat videos and dont know locomotive it's going to get real interesting with no tools and management taking tools and selling them when employees need them for their work so answer my statement make it loud and clear, and cameras all over the yards suppose to be use for locomotive na na not going to happen and get harassed by management about if they dont see you and dont know where your at and watching videos so that's my half be yourself look for a different opportunity that supports you and family. BS

I for one do not think this is funny, or humorous at all. I think Jeff is an outstanding employee. His extensive knowledge is Immensely helpful to our shop, and it allows me to relax in my office, and give the lower guy’s useless tasks. I feel like there are three managers on the shift when he is around, because he keeps the other employees in line while I take a backseat & begin to sell company items online for my personal gain. I for one consider him family

I would say it took you well over 30 minutes to type all that up. I was ready for the big laugh and you just never got there. You wasted my time reading that nonsense.
PS Dont ever tell a joke in your life, you're just not funny! Try something else with your time.
I speak for myself, when I say I am in love with this company; and the way it’s run. I really don’t like spending much time at home, so knowing that I am going to be at work all day brings me a lot of joy. I would like add that, I typically clock in at 2pm, but I am also an old-fashioned guy so I come in a bit early. I personally enter my before shift which two hours beforehand, and I find that to be my sweet spot. I do this to converse with my peers in 1st shift. Simply because I used to be one of them so this allows me to get along well with them. I usually go to my main guy; I don’t necessarily want to say his name so let’s call him “CM.” Me and CM” are the go to guys at the yard because of our extensive knowledge on locomotives. Moreover, some people around the shop also say we’re like best friends or long-lost brothers, this is how close we are and we’ve become with the miniscule amount of time we had working together. Moving along, after I finish engaging with my peers I get all the details and log down exactly what is going on, while doing this, I walk up to my exclusive computer I have right next to the supervisor's office. Yes, those are the perks you get when you constantly tell on other employees because hey, why not. While I scroll over my emails I usually like to look over and try to hear other people’s conversations just to be updated on people’s personal lives, with that it allows for me to update my supervisors as well. I typically do not associate myself with the other 2nd shift employees due to the fact that they are slow workers, and typically do not have enough knowledge on locomotives, so they’ll slow me down. I’m what they call a “Lone wolf” when something goes wrong, I rise to the occasion. For example, two weeks ago an Evolution series locomotive number: 4256 showed up to our shop with three traction motors needing to be replaced, due to multiple KGRs (Kicking ground relay). With our shop being understaffed I insisted to jump on the locomotive by myself to guarantee a 5hr release time for my supervisors, with that being said I got it done within 4hrs, because nobody slowed me down. After that I usually take my lunch alone, far away from everyone else because they usually like to have fun in our lunch room and I really don’t think that’s professional at all. If it were up to me, I would take my lunch with my supervisors just to catch up with them, but I was told not to enter their office and respect their boundaries and space. So now I take my lunch in the back of the shop near all the parts because just like the locomotive parts in that room, I feel like I am apart of them just making this whole locomotive/ company move and grow; and that really makes me happy. When I finish with lunch I put on my old welders cap that I’ve been having for 5 years now even though I really don’t weld. But, even then, I’d like to say that I’m the best welder of the whole Dearborn division. Furthermore, I walk around for a couple more hours after lunch just to try and find some more work around the shop. People tell me to slow down, but I think that’s what lazy people say. They usually come and ask me questions since I have extensive locomotive knowledge, but I like letting people figure it out on their own because that was the way I was taught. People need to suffer and jump through obstacles in order to become a great Electrician in my field. For now, I hold that crown with extreme pride! I’ve achieved so much in this company, with this achievement, recently me and a few other selected employees have a special key that was given to us. That key allows us to have full access to the welding equipment, and I wear that key on my multi tool belt. When I look down and see that key swinging, I remind myself this is why I sacrifice my happiness and time; for not just my happiness but families as well. After all the work is done, I like to stare at my computer and stretch my legs very wide in order to assert dominance on my shift. Moreover, 30 minutes before my shift is over everyone likes to get ready but not me!!!! I try to plan for the next day so I can achieve the same success I had the previous day. Lastly, I like to leave 2hrs later than everyone else. With all that being said I love this company, and I’m glad they are letting people go, because this only allows for me to do their job better. It also allows for me to stay for the long haul.
Sounds like Inman Yard not Chicago
Norfolk southern was the worst company I ever worked for. Ever. The best thing I did was resign and take a job as an electro mechanic . I was a locomotive electrician but the shops in Chicago were trash and Ill equipped one tool box for an entire shop ? ....Grow up
Hire more managers that watch videos and tell you to call the same people you have just called and sit behind a desk and direct nothing in respect or have knowledge of what's going on ,sit behind a desk and dont know anything you need to find a new job !
Ah, could you repeat all that please??
I understand what the original poster was trying to get across.
Railroad used to be ran by railroaders. Now it’s ran college educated id–ts, that are told by attorneys and accountants what to do. All the time studies have been done. They want each person to work at top speed, and then be held accountable for any errors that may occur. There is no excuse for any surprise circumstances. Management will not be held responsible. I feel bad for remaining workers that have over 20 years in and that have no choices but deal with it..
It is going to be interesting to see how all this railroad ends.
Management are going to be magicians . I hate to think that they can make any repairs .
There will not be a need for cameras , no employees to watch.
If you see the gates going down. Stay back! That’s if the gates do work ...
You do know that sentence structure and punctuation exist right?
Wow ! Government needs to step in asap!
