Is it true that people that were laid off got their last date extended 60 days as Allstate tries to figure out ‘transformative growth’ and chat?!

They have extended people across the company, some that were supposed to be gone in Sept/Oct/Nov have been extended to Dec 31st, some have been extended longer.
I’m very grateful that those impacted have more time to seek employment elsewhere... however, Allstate doesn’t really seem to know how to make informed business decisions before cutting people.
It’s rumored that chat is a nightmare and reps are overwhelmed with 3 chats at a time. Agents aren’t happy with the wait times. It’s a mess.
