From someone who got laid off a year ago for no reason at all, in downstream calgary, my advice is to be positive about it. Being laid off was the best thing that happened to me. Not only did I benefit financially through the various things offered but I got a higher paying and better job within a month in a different more stable industry. I gained through the lay off and it was a blessing.
I love these optimistic comments, like this one written by @1sah+186arlMh on another thread. Still, it is difficult to maintain optimism that all will be well, because I think that those who are threatened with dismissal now are not in the same position as those who were fired last year before the pandemic caused major market shocks.
