Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Problems with BOPIS

The BOPIS information is wrong, inventory is low or not existent. We have pallets of stuff no one wants and the stuff the customers are looking for we don’t have! Add to this frustration new employees who we hired quickly no training, they stand in the back doing nothing or hide somewhere in the store talking and not helping. (from +183QYcJR thread)

As for the new employees who are not helping, I partially understand them because they did not have adequate training. The problem is not only with them. Aside from that, I am especially frustrated with BOPIS giving false information and I believe that frustrates our customers as well. As it stands now, I don’t know how efficient BOPIS is? I wonder if it will ever be improved?

I agree with all these posts above, BOPIS was this great thing that was going to fix everything and drive our sales up. Instead it's driving any new customers we get away. BOPIS info is wrong and we're all short staffed and can't get it out on time. Our older loyal customers don't use it and get p-ss-d off when we can't help them because we're told to focus on BOPIS only. Our BOPIS is piled up in a corner with no associate to package and get it out. It's a ridiculous system that needs to be at least updated and we need more employees dedicated to it.
I also love they are spending money to update the look of the website and now they're changing everything to blue? 90% of our customers are women? Where's you customer research? We've gotten comments from women customers saying that seems like a generic corporate blue and what are you copying Target instead of red your the blue store - too late Walmart already owns blue. Our store fronts are also getting that blue... Why paint a sinking ship this isn't going to convince anyone that we're better now - since nothing else has changed for the better?
Another complaint we get from the older customers who try to use the website why is all the text on your website blurry? I never noticed until they pointed it out and I agree all this revamping of the site and all big promo text, headlines are all blurry? What the F! Walmart, Target promos look great but BB&B looks like a high school kid with no clue put it together.
Come on BB&B hire a web team that knows what they're doing and stop paying people who can't get the basics for a website right.
You want to look professional and compete with the big boys. Stop firing store employees/closing stores and start firing your internal teams and hire/pay for professionals who can fix the website and BOPIS. Right now all your doing is putting lipstick on a pig.

The technology just isn't there! Even now after all that has changed BBB technology is possibly the worst in all of retail. If it were 1995 BBB tech would still be outdated. You can only work with the tools you are given. Since those tools are c-ap so are all the processes that depend on them.

We had 25 year vets stand back and do nothing as well. Sets a good example, doesn't it? And they did not get laid off!
