I know many out there will not appreciate what I’m about to say but here goes. There are hundreds of employees who remain with Bass not because we love it or even like it here - but because it’s the way to pay the bills. I remember the difficulty I had in trying to find employment - and that was before the pandemic. While many (like myself) want to leave and are quietly looking for a way out the fact is - we still have bills to pay, food to put on the table, and a roof to put over our heads. We are asked why we still remain. What could be worse? Being unemployed.

Got a text message recently from a former coworker; the text said "If you are so miserable there, just quit!" Then how do the bills get paid? Easy for you to say when you are young and you have no family who relies upon your income. Sometimes you are the pigeon; sometimes you are the statue. I am tired of being the statue.
I completely agree with your comments. I ask myself every day that same question a lot, and the answer is "it helps pay the bills". Nothing else. There is a definite lack of vision; management cannot manage the proverbial one car funeral. Morale is as low as it has ever been. No real communication between management and the worker bees. Customer service is a big joke because there are not enough worker bees to assist customers any more. The store I am at, it was never fully staffed; perhaps 70% at its peak employment? How does getting passed over for a promotion because you don't smile enough make you feel? A coworker bee of mine, who passed away recently, made me laugh and smile whenever we worked together; he made it fun to be there. On the other hand he is the one who referred to the place as the Ba$$hole store!
