I still remember a time when being good at your job and not being afraid to go the extra mile meant you would be able to get ahead. But the days when excelling at your job was rewarded are gone. Now being mediocre is celebrated and rewarded and that really doesn't sit well with me. If somebody constantly gets promoted for doing the bare minimum and I'm overlooked, why would I even try anymore? What's the point?

I bought AMD stock when they chose TSMC as their foundry, it was $5 back then. Apple chose TSMC, Intel(who have their own foundry) will be using TSMC. What's left for GF, sc-aps, how long does sc-aps last. Without innovation how can you lead, correlation is kodak, not innovating when the switch to digital cameras occurred.
If I had to note the two highest failures at GF it would be the consistent cliques with the grade C managers promoting grade D managers to not be challenged. Second is HRBP, the organization of HR is run by unqualified, unprofessionals. Its a KGB structure with Mr. Bean(movie character) personnel.
D & I = Diversity and Inclusion-It's what makes America rich. Only a certain type of people get their feelings hurt, when cliques and barriers that impede anyone else's success, are broken. Those people are toxic.
What is D&I?
I know tons who have quit and come back
Welcome to GlobalFoundries! It’s got the shiny orange sign outside but rotting on the inside. Go to TX where Apple chose to go passing up GlobalFoundries long ago to make state if the Art chips! Everyone who has left has gone on to something better and never looked back!
Oh they don't get promoted for doing the bare minimum, they get promoted for being in the right clique.
IBM clique is mostly out, Fab 7 clique is in
Mediocrity is celebrated in the name of D&I, women power and also bcoz of management's fear of losing power to smart people.
