Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

BTC Salary Plan

They are halting increments even in low cost countries like India, where they already pay below market average. The level of talent will again go down but yes, #weareexxonmobil, we having poor planning despite half the company getting paid for planning.

Because we only want our boss to hear good news and we keep selling koolaid all day long. Employees, people don’t matter. Its only to say during speeches that pur people are pur biggest assets.

Yes its not as bad as losing your job, but the low cost country employees will be shoved all the work at low pay which is horrendous as well. Good luck exxonmobil.

Good luck getting your work done with the ‘motivated’ employees. Once again it shows the failure of BTC leadership hiring dozens every day, and will continue doing so next year.

How much money can they actually save from this?

Enough for The CEO’s annual dental plan?

You got Anna University, University of Pune, and I.C.T. graduates etc there at BTC as well? If yes, suc-kers will be in abundance. These places create people with plenty of inferiorty complex and psychopathic behavior.

BTC employee here with some experience in other companies.

BTC managers communicated this in way that was shameful. Its disappointing to have joined this company where leaders are a joke. There is absolutely no motivation to be here.

They shamelessly announced how they will hire hundreds more at 2020 rates because we are already competitive. Liars. We all know how competitive this company is in terms of salary. Employee morale is all time low and will go further down to the extent of absolutely no concern for actual work. Since no one bothers anyway, but people are p-ss-d as the pay is really low and they worked their a– off expecting some increments at least.

Everyone in BTC knows that management communications are a sham and meaningless words and BS. But of course they think they are the world leaders and everyone else is a fool. Classic EM mentality. Google you id–ts, not even one positive article about the company because of the stupid #weareexxonmobil culture.

ExxonMobil is sinking, and it will sink until the time the mangement and leadership selection is based on facts and merit. The leaders are too lazy to check anything and the employees know it.

A– licking employees who ask questions during townhalls are promoted, employees from tier 3 education and past experience who simply like and comment on yammer posters are being made supervisors. Fake smile and praise you manager, formula for success.

And lastly, I am not complaining and whining. This is the truth. We were promised a great long career with ‘international’ exposure. We feel cheated. Instead I’d be happy to even get a simple stress free work environment without any soul s—ing, gut wrenching, lying, dishonest, pretentious and hypocritical work environment with inhuman leaders.

BTC will never work but unfortunately it will take a while for XOM mng to accept this. They will go till the end as for everything else. The model is doomed to fail. Shell, etc. tried this a decade ago and did not work. It is stupid in my opinion.

There seems lot of rage against BTC Managers from all these posts and prior posts on BTC. If they are not competent, as you all suggest, have a respectful feedback session with their supervisors to improve things. Leadership is not about position, it’s about doing the right thing.

BTC entry level campus hire makes ~$15000/year. BTC manager make atleast $250-300k including additional expat benefits like living in huge villas and private cooks and drivers.

BTC managers and expats drive up the hourly rate of work getting done there to $50/hour. If you do the math, the overheads are going to soon make BTC and other TCs too expensive as well for EM to afford.

BTC employees start looking for jobs. Soon only the 3P contractors will be left as EM employees. All the promises made by your management are false, they are trained to lie through their teeth. They have no empathy, no Care, they will thank you for doing your job without knowing what you actually do. Because they are incompetent egotistic
maniacs. They have played this game long enough to shed their human skins and brains and become puppets.

Soon you folks will be laid off as well and the managers will be counting their dividend bonus.

If we are in this together, why don’t employees get bonuses to company profits in good times? In bad times we lose our salary and jobs, in good times few id–ts splurge on business travel.

No manager or supervisor in India is technically competent, start asking them the questions in public forums and shame them.

Most of the data science and optimization folks at BTC will leave the company within 2-3 months if ExxonMobil halts salary increment. Those who are having other companies offers now, are getting 20-30% hike. Indian job market is really good for data scientists and optimization specialists. God bless BTC managers to retain top talent.

How much is the salary in BTC for early career employees? And how does it compare with the local market (not what someone makes in US or EU). Salaries are always on a local environment basis.

I heard BTC managers make 20-30 times the money than the employees that work there. Firing all of them can easily pay increments imho.

But of course they are there to carry the dirty EM culture.

Get out as soon as you can BTC folks, everything this company does is driven by ignorance and lies.

You forgot to add it helps in maintaining the private jet fleet. One can’t be a credible boss of a top oil and gas giant when you don’t fly in a private jet! Even Bruce Wayne does that...
