I see this as an attempt at retention. Costs must continue to decline with revenue, but there is too much evidence that we have gone below critical mass, at least until processes are fixed or revenue improves.
It’s me, the guy so smart and so totally aware and over xerox that I’m coming here to post “bend over” on thanksgiving about an announced bonus because I’m just so totally over it and not obsessed with xerox.
I hope you’ve found new work, or are going to. I’m not here to defend the company - I just deeply hope some of you figure out the fairly usual workings of the new era of Corporate America. Welcome to being part of the 99%, hope you enjoy your 401k going up. We’re all the shareholders now, and we, apparently, don’t care about labor costs. Unfortunately for us, even as shareholders, we’re also the labor costs.
I’m sorry you’re hurting. We’re hurting too. Enjoy the bonus if you’re here, and let us enjoy it if you’re not. Don’t take the small joys away because you’re upset about real or perceived slights.

I think it is going to be 1% of your salary.
Reread it. Says awards, not bonus. Which means they will pick and choose. If it ends up going of metrics for a tech, and you were one of the few who had to continue to work and co er for others you k ow most metrics where bad from the start, so good luck on that one.
Just want to call some attention to the last post here for the benefit of those lurking.
We’ve reached a point on this board where the announcement of a bonus is apparently evidence of a lay off.
You aren’t wrong to worry @2tic, there’s always a risk, but this announced bonus tells us absolutely nothing about current or future layoffs.
If you are a Xeroid or ex... you know Holliday bonus is layoffs. 12 years I worked for them every Christmas was shakey. Never new if a layoff was coming or not. Seems they rolled out every 2 years... holliday bonus equals layoffs..
Jam of the month club? Of course, it'll get cut short by furloughs come Q1.
The only people that should be getting a bonus are the Essential workers that actually went into work everyday, not the ones that went from their bed to their computer! That goes for Union and Management!
I was going to post a “hey, to those posters, you can enjoy the bonus and still disagree with the direction and management.”
I didn’t post it, because it’s a holiday in the US, and I was worried it would come off as needlessly contentious. I should have known those posters would be jerks anyway.
But hey, if you guys really think this another management ploy and just awful, I’ll take it off your hands for you. In exchange, you can say a “Zeroid id–t” stole it - that way you can perpetuate your victim complexes.
