With major layoffs announced Friday at aviation how long before we hear the same at power. I believe GE as whole is top heavy so hopefully they will trim in middle and upper management.

We were notified at Ge Bangor Maine the workforce will be reduced by 70 hourly workers. 26 eligible for vrips the rest will have to come from voluntary and involuntary layoffs. It all starts Dec.31 and continues into January 2021
Gas Power will have significant layoffs in 2021. No more customers, no more orders for the 60hz market, as fossil gas has no place in the power grid of the New America to come.
@7ozv+183HjJWv. Same old "heard from a good source" BS. Give it a rest!!
Heard from a good source layoffs in Power beginning in Jan 2021, didn't mention how many.

Wilmington is doomed.
check your GE emails, multiple emails Friday afternoon, 11/20/2020
No details besides what John S gave in his email. The layoffs start in aviation right after the holidays and will be over the next 18 months. My guess it will be about 8k over that period to reach the cost out goals. He did mention military was doing good so most layoffs probably in commercial. RS has moved to from power and i think they may have found a buyer for steam.
At what site? Please provide more details. No layoffs at Wilmington, NC.
