I wish all the stores could stay open, but we know operating 800 stores just isn't feasible anymore. Career jobs at the store level are basically gone. Any smaller locations will eventually be on the chopping block if not already. Macys will outlast whatever Penny's or Sears are left so keep that in mind before saying Macys is going down anytime soon. It seems like the company is hiring for back of the house jobs in fulfillment or receiving more than anything. That's where we are heading. I think the sales associates are doing the best they can! Bigger locations in the best malls, Macys Market, Backstage, and fulfillment is the real future.

Macy's will survive, but just be a lot smaller, a fraction of what it once was.
