Oh, I do my absolute best to distance and sanitize with trainees, but it's nearly impossible to keep 6 feet at all times. Using a computer is difficult from 6 feet away. I pretty much have every "click this click that" memorized so well I could tell it from my office, but realistically let's face it, it is hard to set up everything. All I can do is my best. Store manager doesn't care though. She's all talk publicly, but when I told her my concerns she basically told me too bad, figure it out. I'm trying. But they aren't backing me up or helping with any support or even concern.
I hate the callousness and using the letter of the law to avoid addressing the big picture. Oh, what, you worked with them 72 hrs and 1 minute ago? Too bad.
I believe the number is arbitrary because you could be with that individual every day leading up to that time period. A positive test after 72 hours away from people proves nothing about what happened the 11 days before that. I guess I must be missing something and I'm sorry for being dense.
I think what's really bothering me is that I just don't like using rules so stringently to avoid any bad publicity. Can't scare anyone because they might not come in. Numbers are more important than health and safety. Use the rules to maintain as much secrecy as humanly possible to prevent any inquiry into what's really going on, how they're not doing everything they are supposed to.
I just hate them. Period.
