I keep hearing about people who are still being hit - does anybody know what's going on with that?

Well Said👇!!!
Company is just left with useless managers and Executives.
I am a customer of hitachi vantara for 19 years. Sad to hear about the layoffs. I totally agree with the comments here. If the company needs to layoff, keep yourself technical team employed. Let go of the “useless” Acct managers. Keep the people that do the work. The acct managers are so calloused they don’t care about customer needs. The dba had the sense to ask and provide solutions. But your acct managers don’t emphatize with the customers. Worse, if I ask ask for help on a problem that should not have been there if the managed service was done properly, the acct managers even had the audacity to charge us for the assistance. And even, worse, reprimand the dba for providing solutions in front of the customer!!!!
Get rid of your useless acct managers!!!
No they are not. There will be more in EMEA soon and the rest after Q4. Target is 30% overall reduction then new hires bring in all own people and HV circles the drain. Start looking. I am! Can’t wait to be out of this place.
I was laid off over a year ago. You wouldn't believe the amount of stress lifted off of my shoulders. I've told others to just come to terms with losing your job to no fault of your own. Chances are high it's going to happen. Even though you're still there move on mentally now and it will make it much easier to transition to hunting for a new start somewhere else.
Ive been laid off last week.
Not unhappy after all putting the entire company in a messy situation.
These guys acted like headless chicken: going Cloud, then IoT and expects that the shift could be done in less than a year, for a company known and having reputation for traditional on prem infrastructure.
Too bad to see such a waste of good product and talent while keeping mid management that ONLY protect their a– and never helped in any way making business.
Its btw even worse than that: have you tried to ask our wonderful regional manager or VP to talk to a customer? That is a joke: they just repeat the b—s— ppt without event asking the customer needs (I was in such a meeting and realized how poor / lack of talent our management is) or understanding first customer issue.
No : they just do everything’s that we wouldn’t do : being arrogant.
I’m happy to leave these miserable useless country managers, regions managers that have almost no power (apart the xls one) and consume the few one not moving forward with our customers but protecting them.
Poor company sick of too much useless management level,
Good luck for all my dear colleagues, I’ve seen lots of positives attitudes and great spirit during this though time and hope I 'll have the chance to see it again!
They are slowly deskilling the onsite teams. On-site teams are training teams in Costa Rica, Mexico, Poland and India. As the offshore teams become more and more proficient with the help of the onsite teams expect more layoffs in 2021. This is the main reason why there are no mass layoffs in the US but rather a slow bleeding.
US has employees signed up with severance to leave at the end of January and March in 2021.
A number of European countries will lay off staff later due to COVID related employee laws in some countries and/or union agreements. But they will definitely come in 2021, latest for the next FY in April.
Senior Vice President ?
Who is the SVP?
I know of 5 people, including a SVP that cut axed in DIBU, a writer, PM, proj mgr, eng, field eng, last week.
From what I'm hearing this is just the beginning. There are four new hires reporting to GK. They are going to bring on their own new hires and so on. I'm expecting DIBU layoffs in Jan 2021. I've been looking for opportunities since Mar 2020. Owing to Covid and the state of the Infrastructure Industry opportunities are hard to come by.
This one is bigger than the one in 2000 when they shutdown the Pilot sales.
They survived that one and I don't think they will survive this transition.
Good luck everyone.
So long and thanks for all the fish Hitachi
There is virtually no revenue to speak of coming in from the Cloud / IoT. We have revenue coming in from the legacy product pipeline which is shrinking by the day. This company is a miserable mess.
So glad to be outta there, was such a mess. But sorry for the stress to those left behind.
It's freaking nerve wracking.
