Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

SINKING SHIP!

Y’all need to get out now! As one poster put it, it’s the Titanic! As a FORMER 25+ career person who was forced out because of a STUPID store manager who just started in the store prior to COVID, y’all are a number!!! They don’t care. I lost my job because I didn’t have childcare and he TOOK CARE OF the people he used to work with in his former store. NOW I’m not saying I’m not happier in the sunshine state of Florida here, I had the summer off, have time to spend with my family and on my boat, but I would rather be working for the company I gave half of my life too instead of getting screwed! I challenged it with In Store Solutions. LET ME TELL YOU, THOSE PEOPLE, BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. They stalled my case until after I signed my severance to tell me that because I did that, they couldn’t investigate more. THEY KNEW THEY DID ME WRONG!

GET OUT NOW!!!!

IT WILL BE GONE IN 3 YEARS!

I do not understand the continuous complaints about "The company does not care about us" let me ask you this....Do you care about them? Honestly after you work your 4, 6 or 8 hour shift do you care? I know I don't.
Im there to do a job and get a paycheck and go home and be with my loved ones and family and do what I care about. That is what matters.
I could care less if they feed me on a holiday, have special dress up days, or the endless unnecessary stuff that is done on a daily basis that in reality is just wasting time and money they dont have because WHO CARES. Smoke and Mirrors. Does a candy bar or candy bag for opening credit motivate you? It's a joke.

I open credit because its MY JOB to make sure I ask each and every customer and let them know the benefits. I don't do it for a mini snickers bar. LOL!!!!

The things I see around me astound me. Managers having to babysit and talk to grown ladies and men in their 60s and 70s like a child. How do you all function at home and in real life if you have to be babysat by a 25 year old?

And these same whiners, complainers and child like grown folk are the ones raising future generations to run this country.

And we wonder what the problem is....

To the last poster, just remain in your bubble and comfort zone. One day you'll finally grow up and please don't hesitate to ask what happened. Oh, no whining either🥴😩

My store kept all the best workers and team players.
Most were the higher paid.
I definately have worked for some bad management through the years.
I feel Lucky to work in a store with management that cares. Our Store Manager is coaching a very diverse team, We choose to keep us as a team. We talk with each other and make sure you work where u are strongest most of the time. I don't understand when associates say the company doesn't care, it is a Business, you get hired to do a Job and they have to pay you on payday. That's it. They don't owe u anything. Grow up and stop your whining.

The goal is to push you until you break especially those with many years of service.

Morale in our store could not be worse. Support team being worked to death. Asked to do everything except clean the restrooms and I am afraid that is next. New store manager and newly appointed “captain “of OVM are on a power trip like no other. No respect or regard for dedicated employees with many years of loyal service. I fear much of our team will not be able to endure much more . After 29 years I really just hate to be pushed out. I miss the feeling of loving my job.

Yeah Instore solution is not in the complaints favor. By design. It’s to document the situation and then have the complaint removed for another reason down the line. Managers can say/do what ever they want and you can’t do anything back. That’s why Corrupt manager last so long at Macy’s.

In store solution is there to figure out how to remove you without creating waves or lawsuits. They do not have your best interest at heart.

To the individual repramanding someone about "being bitter" you will find out sooner than later. Working long enough will open your eyes. Oh, maybe you are one of those store managers or manager who ridicule and mentally abuse colleagues. Yes, during a major pandemic, people do need what is known as childcare since most were closed. Are you one of them that roll your eyes when someone call in sick, or refuse to approve sick days because you're so mad. Remember you work there too. Or maybe you did.

Instore Solutions is a fraud set up. If a colleague make a report the entire executive office knows who, what, when, where concerning everything. They believe the managers over the colleague and make it all go away. Worse if it's a store manager,
oh boy. Even if they have to find a way to dismiss colleagues. This is from the inner walls here.

I am so sorry!!! Agree 1000% that giving everything to a company that does not value workers is not worth it. Evil store manager did similar as covid ravaged the country. All the talk about caring is fake. The things that would be said about colleagues and so different in their faces. Again, get out if you can. You are great now until you are not anymore. Experience talking here.
Can't wait to tell the truth to the world.

Which makes sense as we all know older people were not willing to do anything extra. We could barely even get them to pick anything for fulfillment or bops. Let alone keep up with go backs

Nope. I don’t think it was credits opened. We had some good support people who were let go as well as some good support people who were kept on. It was based on your attitude. If you were miserable and negative you were let go. They only kept people who they knew would be able to go with the flow and not be afraid to learn and to take on extra responsibility.

Not true. I open tons of cards too 1/2 rank in my store. I was making too much hourly which was double what average associates made. I was laid off. It was long term cost. Pay vs benefits vs 401k vs how they will shape the biz next. Your left off the boat. They don’t care how much you sold or how many cards you opened. It’s was your cost and any pre existing health issues that could turn into a law suit if you caught Covid. They are covering their own butt. They don’t care about you at all. The company has now molded into a cash cow for ceo and board of crooks. Wake up !

It doesn't matter why you were let go....call it fate. I think it had to do with how many credits you opened. Its all about the credit cards you open. They make more money on the credit cards than on the merchandise...people have no clue about the interest and late fees.

In reply to : @yqf+17yNk2BW, if your store only let the complaining and whiny people go that is pretty much on par. For most locations, including corporate offices they mostly kept TES people are those with lower pay rates and benefits.

Let's see if you feel the same come next January when they announce another huge round of terminations. There is no way they are going to continue to survive with the low profits they have. I too think they have maybe 1.5 years left.

You sound pretty bitter and negative. In my store it was only complaining and Whiney people that were let go. Can you really blame Macy’s because YOU didn’t have childcare? That’s not their fault. That’s on you and if it was an issue for you, then you Could have taken a personal leave til you figured it out.

Correction it will be gone in 1.5 years. In store scam I mean “ solution “ is only in the favor of big dinosaur M ! . They railroaded you out cause. The store manager has to do it come next year to look good for his keepers. He has to cut more managers in feb. and then grow the new crop of s—ers from the stiffs left over. It’s a scam. Big toilet M is just gonna flush everything down the drain so the board of criminals can keep cashing in on your health and your talents with their bonuses for laying everything off
