Any thoughts from our Department on when we will know our date? I was thinking today since they love telling on a Tuesday, but now I’m rethinking it maybe next week.

Alright we can safely assume it will be Tuesday or Wednesday of next week people. They would rather not do this on a Thursday or Friday. It has always been the middle of the week. A few more days of suffering.
Our department laid off the entire groups of teams on a zoom meeting. Once the HR person's face popped up we knew we were fried. It must depend on how each enterprise decides to handle because in our area the only individual HR meetings were to let directors and DM's go. Us peons they did in mass zoom meetings like cattle led into the slaughterhouse.
From other areas that have been notified. Zoom meeting from HR individually you are gone. If as a group meeting you are safe.
Well I am guessing it won’t be today since it hasn’t happened yet
Depends on area but most seem to learn their fates via video conference zoom. If someone from HR pops up in your zoom you and all on the call are goners.
Actually Allstate has been very technology-driven for years now (Arity anyone?). Maybe it’s hard to see beyond the PPL products and technology offered, but there is way more out there that Allstate has a hand in across the enterprise.
I have been told that if we are being laid off, we will get a phone call. If we are being retained, we will be notified by email. I would guess if they want to make sure that severance pay gets issued prior to the end of 2020, they would want to give a bit of leeway by making the announcements to ASAP this week. But who knows really, they could drag this out to the last business day of October.
Does the ASAP Team agree that Allstate isn't a technology company like Tom Wilson said? https://youtu.be/TNmFNDqUyTY
As Soon As Possible
I think it’ll be tomorrow
Come on Tommy, I’m ready either way! Let’s get the show on the road.....tell us our fate!
Good luck to every one of my ASAP teammates. My you land well whatever happens!
Wow. Give people their 60 day notice between the Wed the 21st and Friday the 23rd. Their 60th day would be Dec 21 - Dec 23. The severance pay out wouldn't issue until after Christmas, around the 28th just in the nick of time before the year ends. Its a lump sum pay out. It will be heavily taxed. The actual take home pay will be less than what your take home pay would be if paid bi-weekly.
I heard it was going to be this week. Guessing tomorrow is the day. They always do it on a pay week for some reason.
