Paul Sankey, analyst, has a note about a potential Marathon and Continental merger. Thoughts?
I expect Q3 earnings to be positive, but that's not the pressing issue. The big risk is that we get concho'd for an absurdly low price. Concho got bought for what they paid for RSP not that long ago. Agree that we need to find a partner and soon. It's eat or be eaten.
Our only hope is a merger or buyout! Let us pray!
You have to look at the company's cashflow (positive or negative) with no rigs and riding production decline curve. If negative, we are surviving off our credit line and the end is near. If positive, we are surviving for the short term until production drops enough to cause negative cashflow.
WTF? how do you back this statement up? any details?
