When's the last time anybody here's been promoted at PepsiCo? It seems to me that the only way to get ahead is to be a good a–kisser or related to somebody. Am i wrong? Are there promotions taking place based on merit anywhere in the company or is it reserved for nepotism and brown-nosing?

You gotta be a women these days to expect promotion...it is not an EEO employer as it advertises.
Or if you are not up in the ranks yet, you can work hard and have great results. Then you can stay stuck a a low band and train and carry a college hire who is 22 and is a band 6 or 7 day one in the business.
I know of someone that got promoted, not by showing up and punching the clock, but by dating the boss and thinking they were being sneaky until the cleaning people acccidentally walked in on them after hours in their office...OOPS ! .... Who are these drone clowns that post here that continue to promote this "hard work blah blah blah BS"...that is the last thing that will get you ahead at Pepsico.
Lots of sour grapes and people that probably just expect to be promoted by showing up to work here. Keep punching that clock.
Gotta play the game, only the PepsiCo way will get you there.
There is no equality in promotions. It is who you know unfortunately.
Interviewing internally is pointless. If you don’t know anyone in an established team, you will never get hired. They hire in clicks to sweep things under the rug.
PepsiCo has worked on the buddy system for as long as I can remember. Little clubs get formed and they fast track up the ladder. They also mysteriously move around just before major reorgs to avoid being cut. System has never been fair and equitable, never will be.
With all the new initiatives ....... you will not get a promo unless your in one of the targeted groups....... diversity is the key
And HR will get worse when they moved off shore.
HR is totally useless
Promotion.....LOL. I haven't had a raise in 2 years. Just the small lump sum they give because I have reached the top of my pay scale.
My department alone is made up of friends of the senior manager. One person, a family friend already promoted twice in less than two years. And HR does nothing.
