Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Christmas Tree Shop Chaos!

The christmas tree shop I work at, sounds like ike they are closing it down with or without it being sold off.

Workers here are not shy, talking about stealing things from the store and then selling the stolen items online. They're excuse is they are doing this for extra money prepping for the store closure and being laid off. It looks like a couple managers are doing the same here too.

I also know this happening at my local BB&B to. Some of my coworkers friends are working there. Telling us they're stealing as much as they can.

Anyone else seeing this?

People really have no shame. Coworker has been stealing from BB&B since the big layoff back when covid started. She told me that she's made about $9000.00 that will be her BB&B retirement fund when they close her store later this year.

Well it's been the policy to not confront shoplifters or even follow them outside at CTS.

I SO agree with the last two posters. Stealing is not right. You do realize it is against the law and you could get arrested right? It has happened in other places. And yup..that will really increase your chances of finding a new job. By now I am sure corporate is aware of it..especially since a couple people directed them to this board 81

So easy to just damage something out and put by the dumpster. If it’s a ship back just mos it. I’ve gotten some great deals damaging stuff out and putting a great As-is price on it. Let it sit in receiving for a few weeks for even better markdowns

Sad to read this. I'm for hating this company and already put in my 2 weeks, but to steal? That's a different kinda low. That shows you the morals of those individuals. Karma will come back... This is the America we live in now. No standards or integrity.

Let's just say Christmas Tree Shops isn't the only store this is happening in. I work at a BB&B and someone I know works at Harmons. And the workers there know these stores are closing their managers have let everyone know. But once the manager told everyone all bets were off. I've seen vaccums, coffee machines, and bedding disappear. When I confront them they tell me who else is stealing where they're selling the items. And they are classifying them as damaged returns and loading their car up.

In my store its ridiculous.
