Anyone hear if Allstate will go virtual

Any word on what's next with restructuring, going virtual or bringing folks back to the office?

They should. We’ve shown it can be done. Would save them money.

The region I was in closed so I have no choice but to be virtual until they tell me something different

Regarding HO: I just learned yesterday they are still considering what they want to do. It was mentioned about some $80M savings regarding "real estate" but the speaker's voice was cutting out so I couldn't hear it very well. Based on the other comments I could hear, it sounds like they want many more folks going virtual. They also said they wanted to be "late and not early" in regards to returning to work. I know they have wanted to get out of Northbrook due to taxes but not sure how easy it will be to close up shop there. I'm guessing the folks forced to return will be the "essential on site" workers and those whose team is mostly spread out across the world can become home based.

We were told our center would not re-open, all there now virtual, and they will either ship our personals to us or we can pick up curbside. NC

The update I heard in August was a few locations were being targeted for “Test and Learn”, one of them being G building in home office. I believe 50 volunteers who normally work there were selected based on several factors, one being that no one else living in the home is a “front-line health care worker”, among other considerations. Those folks had to take a LRN course which outlined the requirements (no eating food at your desk, masks must be worn at all times, follow the directional arrows when walking, limiting the number of elevator passengers, and so on. Then daily, on the Virgin app, answer the health questions affirming you have no Covid symptoms, have not been exposed to your knowledge, etc.
Once you arrive at the gate, turn into the parking lot where a tent is setup for two main lines (those who answered the app and those who did not), get your temperature taken, and get a sticker for your badge or clothing.

The plan was to begin bringing employees back to the office beginning in January, but I heard that date has been pushed off to sometime in mid- to late 2nd quarter.

Test and Learn in Northbrook has been paused because of increasing numbers of positive tests in Cook county, but I don’t know for how long, or even if it has resumed.

Many centers will not re-open as full offices as we once knew. Many roles will remain virtual as it is cheaper and proven the last 6+ months that it can be done.

I don’t know what’s going to happen.. but I’m here to comment to say, if they are wanting to ‘cut costs’ it’d save them a buttload of money in operating costs if they kept everyone home.
