It is called contact tracing. If employees are told to keep quiet then how could a customer or vendor know they were potentially exposed? How would they know to self quarantine? If the employee was exposed outside of work and has been in the store after their exposure..they are bringing the virus in with them. Does that make since.
And when did an epidemiologist say that about returns? Could you cite the source please?
No company or store is required to shut down for 14 days in the event of a positive test. 14 days is the recommended quarantine period for someone exposed to the virus because the incubation period is that long, meaning it could be 2 weeks before symptoms arise after an exposure but before a positive test.
But a positive test is different. By then it is about exposure to others. And the virus is active for a shorter period. Think about it...an epidemiologist suggested only a 3 day wait for returns of soft goods.
The company says if an employee worked within 7 days (that’s 4 extra days) of their positive test then the store gets a deep clean. Deep cleans do not happen because an employee had an exposure outside of work. It only happens when the employee was positive at work.
As for that employee returning...that’s a medical thing and a negative test is all it takes.
So for those who say go to the health department...what for???? As much as I am not a fan of the company, having been laid off and all, the company has a good COVID protocol.
You were told to keep it quiet? (as opposed to quite). I would call or email the health department. You probably can anonymously.
so call the health dept the store should have been shut down for cleaning
I'm in South Carolina, and was told by the Manager to keep quite. So far 5 associates are out for 14 days. We have alot of loyal customers that shop us weekly, and we need to keep it quite ???
Could be because specific stores and locations are being used and C-19 is a health crisis. Recommend just using store numbers not city. 🤔🤷🏽♂️
