So I was I informed my furlough ended on a Saturday, I was told this about 2 weeks out, with the next day the start of my first week of availability. Scheduled 0 hours that first week. That week was followed by another week scheduled 0 hours. 14 days with not even working once. I am part time so under Belk rules I can be scheduled 0 hours but why even bring me off furlough then? Just in case? Purely for their convenience? Does it save them money? I don't really care what Belk lists me as status wise, for my personal status I am still unemployed and at the end of the day that's the status that matters.

Week 4 of no scheduled hours. I have been getting unemployment but according to the unemployment website I have it looks like one payment left and I will have exhausted unemployment through sometime in 2021.
I had gotten insurance through the Exchange, which uses projected income for the coming year. My last income from Belk was early March this year. At this point I don't know what to use on the Exchange for projected income if I will even have any through Belk in 2021.
Looks like I need to move on, ideally find a full time job with health insurance. Even with government assistance at this point I am only technically employed, not employed in any real world sense.
File unemployment for the weeks of no work. You will get it. I did.
It's now looking at the schedule 3 weeks of 0 hours, this is the end of 2 weeks since called "back." I did file for unemployment for my first week "back" and was paid it. I plan to do so again for this week of "work."
It varies by state but some states allow you to file for unemployment even if you are technically working if the pay reduction is severe enough.
This is bull. I was called and no return date mentioned but unemployment was stopped immediately. Two weeks for me also. What are we supposed to just hang around broke until they put us on schedule. Just because you are called doesn't mean you go back to work right then. Should have left us on unemployment until the schedule was made.
I heard they can't hire seasonal employees, of course with less pay, until they bring back furloughed employees. Whether they give you hours or not.
Just to meet the staffing matrix even though they don’t need you right now. They have to show that they have hired the staff required by the company. So yes for their convenience purposes. They will use you during holiday more than likely.
Omg....
That's so wrong to leave someone in limbo with no income .
They don't know what the heck they need to do
