MPC seems to only excel in old school logic. Look no further than their move to force legacy Andeavor refineries (the ones remaining) to 5x8hr work weeks.
Meanwhile, other companies moving to flexible or remote schedules, more WFH flexibility. I understand HQ is in Ohio, but our thought process doesn't need to be stuck in the 1950’s.

Working with people in Findlay is ridiculous. They all look act like drones doing repetitive tasks. When questioning anything you seem to hear the same answer across different organizations, "We've been doing this for 30 years", "But Why? What's the goal or purpose?", and the answer is always: "I don't know". I'm so glad I left this company. After the acquisitions it seems Andeavor employees went back in time to the 1950's. No wonder the stock is half priced.
It's still that "but$ in chair" mindset. It matters not what you have accomplished as long as you are physically in the office.

Agreed. Some supervisors are reasonable, but many supervisors and managers reference "optics" when you ask about a flexible work schedule outside of the 8 - 5PM time or working from home once a week.
My question is - who cares? If I am doing an exemplary job and am collaborative with my colleagues, then why shouldn't I have a little flexibility when my calendar allows it? My spouse and kids are home before 4pm, and I don't get home until after 6pm. If the company had more flexibility, we might just have some more morale and passion for our company while all else continues to appear bleak.
