HMH violates WARN?

Violations? probably not. They're experts at layoffs. They have layoffs more frequently than they release new products or resolve customer complaints. Veejay is gunning for Jacks Job, and doesn't even hide it, so we can only expect more and faster layoffs to appease the PE owners. Happy to have moved on. It's not a company that people want to work for anymore and increasing a company that fewer and fewer customers want to do business with anymore.
Not sure. But very likely they violate the ADEA act (protects 40 year + aged employees). To protect themselves they documented reviews and "9 scales" to defend against an audit - but which by themselves are inherently biased. I am virtually certain that this age category disproportionally is scored low in the "Growth" category, as untrained and unknowing managers tend to favor young up and coming staff instead. Would love to see the state audit their demographics (layoff vs retained).
