Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

I can’t stand to lose more hours

Business has been really horrible. Each week our hours are cut more. I see my 6 hour shift Saturday has been slashed to 4.

Why aren't the managers who spy here regularly responding? It's not like they're doing actual work.

I wish Target would replace B&N here, then at least we'd have good stuff to buy , not over-priced birhouses made in Taiwan.

I’ve heard February too. Didn’t want to post it first because of the fools accusing me of being a lying “former”... this comes from my manager.

When will be the liquidation sale? At least you have some hours. Some of us that worked weekends/evenings weren’t even allowed to come back and do 20-15 hours a week. It is all so sad.

Word is we’ve got through Christmas, and January.
February will be close down mode.
It’s incredibly sad to get this news, but understandable, when you’re not making a profit.

If you can’t stand to lose more, apply elsewhere, some retailers ( Target, Walmart) are doing well. There’s nothing prestigious about working for Barnes. Retail is retail !
