Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I heard the # of laid off could be up to 25,000 can anyone confirm?

Has anyone heard real numbers on how many were laid off?

If they cut 25,000, you’d end up with 1 engineer, one TME, 2 SE, 5 sales people, 10 product managers, 1,000 BDM’s, 5,000 in central marketing, and 18,000 execs and any leftover headcount in the diversity organization.

There is a song lyric and old saying "the rats have a sense to abandoned the ship". That is the case here. I would not be surprised if it is 25k. Nothing surprises me any more with Executives. The reason is none of their compensation is tied to how the business does. They have their contract, they get their money, bonuses, and stock, they have their 7 or 8-figure Golden Parachute. Why would you care what happens? The easiest way for Execs to hit numbers is to reduce work force. Once they get big bonuses, they can leave and not own any of the problems.

My team is in Sales. We hit our number and then some. How did we get repaid ? My manager, Director were impacted. We were told by our manager had some of the people on our team not taken the ERP he would have had to pick several for LR. You know there is a huge problem when you are destroying the teams that bring in money. That tells you those of us still employed are on a sinking ship. I strongly urge everyone to get off this ship and tell friends not to work here. I love Cisco but it has been ruined. Sad to see. Best to everyone impacted and those still bailing water out of Cisco.

ELT plan is to reduce total Cisco employees by 50% by Aug 2021, which would bring total world wide employees to 35,000 vs 70,000 today

  • spoke to a friend that was at Nortel in the last days.... he said sounds like the same ELT in the last days running Nortel which is now running Cisco.... Nortel missed the IP trend and now Cisco missed the cloud trend... can’t survive in a place where everything is cloud

His Point .... end of days....

So is AWS the new Cisco? Say it is not so.... is your ELT that off... crazy

Can't see that big a number, but definitely felt like 5k+ bomb so far. Company imploding. Cut to the bone, and now cutting bones.
