This has already been happening. Our products have been gradually degrading because half the people working on them have no idea what they're doing - but hey, they're cheaper! I just don't understand how our leadership can't see that their constant chase for cheaper and cheaper workforce is dooming this company.

This is true whether we want to admit it or not, but it is also true that its not universally true.
There are lazy/unqualified people in any culture, really nothing to do with race. Either way the product quality is bad that cant be argued
My take after many years in the industry, having watched it change...
Talking about average tech workers, as the top are generally amazing irrespective of ethnicity.
Indians work harder, more team-oriented, more humble, on average better educational background, lest serious about quality, hierarchical
Americans more serious about quality, more creative, egotistical, competitive, less tactful, more fair minded, better problem solvers
American-born Indians are in the Americans bucket, but with fewer downsides. It's a cultural, not racial thing.
Apparently this isn't the case everywhere, the H1s in my group are astoundingly good. Like we would sink without them. It's the "good ol boys" club thats lazy as hell and been around for 20+ years and have lost interest in doing actual work that need to go.
The products are degrading because of years of CEO white male American leadership and bro-culture that doesn't know how to live in a world with competition and where things are not handed over to them. The "cheap" labour can only do as much if they are being led by a headless chicken.
But hey, let's be racists and blame the cheap labour for our own incompetence. Another installment of "hey, white privileged male, how is capitalism working for you?".
Agree, it is because the top management is interested in showing that they are saving money by sending work overseas to cheap labor, who has no idea on what to do and how to do it? Good luck America and welcome clueless cheap H1 labor
