Dude, you should payback in that case. Just 3-4 months in a job and thinking about LRs or visiting layoff sites instead of exploring the exciting world ahead of you? I don't think you are ready for the corporate job yet.

You'll get the standard package, which is 3 months.

If you were only there 3-4 months and offered a 6 month severance, be thankful. You most likely have no ties keeping you down in one place. Cut down on spending, travel a little if you can, and look for a new job. Back in the late 80s or early 90s a friend was in a similar situation at IBM. They offered a FAP which was 2 years salary and $25k to leave. He was only there 3 months, took it, and went to the other company that was after him out of college.

Anyone know how many new grads were affected by this? How cruel to hire someone then lay them off 3-4 months in. “Best place to work”. That’s a good one.

Well, finally got the news, impacted by LR. Asked to take severance and go.

Chances are, unless you're a "problem" or your team is getting axed almost entirely, you will be safe. There is no point in bringing on a new grad and then laying them off less than 6 months in, unless the company itself was about to go belly up for good. The best thing you can do is to be there for your colleagues (it's gonna be tough for everyone at the lower levels), keep learning and acquiring new skills, and look for new opportunities.
