Ex PBNA here, if you are feeling you are next or simply unmotivated, take the package. I moved on and found a role where I’m more appreciated and better compensated ... with a company that’s growing top line not succeeding via bottom line cost cutting. Good luck all

Sounds like they'll use this to clear out anyone not kissing up to leadership. Saw this first hand when they elevated numerous people to marketing roles they were not ready for. This created a domino effect where these ppl elevate others not ready and resulted in a few disastrous marketing ideas and ads

I don't know how we can say "Promotions are fair and go to the most qualified" in the Organizational Health Survey when you have publicized efforts to increase female and blacks in management, and everything else goes to India. Remember than when completing the survey.

Let’s get rid of those plain old, white guys. They’re so out of vogue.
Let’s use covid as an excuse to take lay-off and take every extra nickel away. Let’s jack up your goals next year, so we don’t have to give out performance raises for the foreseeable future. Let’s send every job we can out of the US. Those Americans are lazy and cost us way too much. Let’s put 3 jobs on one person and get every hour of work out of them that we can. They are lucky to have jobs anyhow and who cares if they want a personal life. If they leave, we’ll drag another schmuck through the front door as cheaply as possible.

This layoff will be about representation. They will get rid of groups highly represented like white males and replace with blacks and women.

PEP never used to do it. I gotta believe this is purging of older employees at least partially due to COVID. In addition to making more money, these employees are more likely to get complications from COVID, causing absenteeism and disruption. Company needs a younger workforce because COVID is not going anywhere. It will be around like flu or common cold, only much more contagious. Perhaps not as a pandemic anymore, but outbreaks will continue. Hence buyouts even as the company is doing well.
