“Microsoft's diversity initiative is investigated for 'discrimination'”

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar action against CVX given how poorly they have communicated and executed their plan.

In your EEOC complaints and lawsuits against CVX for reverse discrimination, ask your attorney to request that the Company provide selection meeting notes and inclusion counselor comments from your function's selection event. I am willing to bet there were (and will be in R4) discussions of gender and ethnicity and "why are there no people of color?". I am just having a difficult time believing that with all of the enterprise-wide communications about D&I that seem to smack of leaning towards the opposite end of the diversity spectrum, Chevron isn't unconsciously or consciously making hiring decisions based on race and gender. Also have them ask for adverse impact data.

The no-nothing re-hires will be augmented by contractors to prop up their PMPs. Its the Chevron Way.

I'm certain that those of you whom question the qualifications of diverse employees were already doing so prior to the increased efforts around D&I. These attitudes are not new. By the way, what program can be blamed for all of the white people - male and female - who are poor performers and managers but will keep their jobs nonetheless?

This D&I agenda is bad, but honestly what's worse is leadership continuing to insist that the "best, most qualified person for the job" is being selected. Look at the current selections through R3; that's complete BS. More to come in R4, I'm afraid...

If only you all spent half as much time being decent at your jobs as you did fretting about diversity. If you don’t s— your odds are pretty good at being retained. And if you s—, don’t blame diversity.

Does CVX have any government contracts for things like research grants from DOE? If so POTUS’s executive action on critical race theory could be a catalyst for something similar.

Man, I would love to see a similar action against Chevron! Did MKW and his Microsoft bestie compare notes during one of their weekends swinging golf clubs together?
Same as others who have posted on here, I am not even a white male and the Chevron D&I rhetoric is eyeroll inducing to the nth degree. Earlier comment was right on when they said that what Chevron is doing is only making things worse for people of color because no one will find them credible anymore. Everyone will assume they got a job based on what they look like or what EEO category they are in. This is the exact opposite of what us minorities want.

How does D&I work in CVX Southeast Asia BU’s?

What is really sad and troubling is that by buying into this reverse discrimination mentality — because that’s what it is — even those minority candidates who genuinely were qualified will be looked upon with suspicion. This just perpetuates the stereotypes that a minority cannot get ahead in their own merits. If I were a visible minority (BTW, I am a minority but don’t look it), the last thing I would want is to support a program that provides what essentially ate handouts, especially if it could foster the perception that I haven’t earned my accomplishments fair and square. Our family had to work hard when we came to the US, and I feel proud that I never — not once — took advantage of minority-related benefits (not when applying to college, work, etc.). Have some fu**ing pride and pick yourself up! If YOU work hard enough, you will rise on your own merits. Yes, there will be detractors along the way. So what? Focus on education and hard work. Nobody can take those away from you. There are plenty of people who hire fairly based on qualifications. Why would you want to be handed a job for which you aren’t qualified and solely based on your D&I status? Do the hard work, and the rest will follow.

I’m a white women and experienced. I was told I wasn’t diverse enough. And is there any surprise who filled the role? Pathetic.

I urge each of you to research prop 16 in california. They are trying to remove protections for race, s-x, and other protected classes. They are doing this so these companies cant be sued for reverse discrimination. Ask yourself why a “progressive” state like CA would do this. Its planned of the planned globalization of the corporate workforce demographics.

Let's go after the nepotism next. It causes more damage than D&I.

“Employment action may be taken on the basis of race”. Pretty sure that’s exactly what one of the RM and LJ emails said recently.
