Goodbye 8018 Breen Road & US Made Power Sections

It’s a shame, that within a short drive from NOV corporate on Park Row, that someone who cared in a high position, could have simply taken the time to come by some time back when the Lebanese Mafia came into power under, just to witness the grossly incompetent leadership which set into motion the terrible and avoidable course for the now doomed plight of NOV US power section manufacturing.

The two victims of this match made in h_ll were two companies, R&M Energy Systems & Monoflo, which had promise, albeit each had flaws, but it was evident that under even reasonable leadership and with sone really great employees, solid brands and field reputation, could have endured and remained at least a survivor in this downturn with a chance to rebuild.

But, it wasn’t to be, it was all arrogance from NOV.

“It’s just shooting rubber into a tube”, they would say!

Just sad how some really talented and dedicated employees poured significant periods of their careers and let’s face it good parts of their lives into each company, and later into NOV, even in the face of extreme incompetence of the past through present leadership.

Just trying to make it work, hoping their sacrifice may help keep the company afloat even when faced with an antagonistic and adversarial management culture.

A truly hostile workplace it was.

I’m sad, also hopeful for those who will be losing their jobs, to seek their best and strive for themselves a better future and a better work environment.

This is nearing the final chapter of a nightmarish novel which still produces bad dreams and cold-sweats for many.

Hopefully new joy and peace to come.

There is light after NOV.

Good Riddance NOV!

Best Wishes to all current and future former employees!

Park Row and Breen Rd., both locations, were filled with Discrimination, Favortism and Incompetence. Unless you s— up to "Mgmt" there, you didn't have a great working experience. It was a Living Hell working at both locations! Even my first year under Monoflo, wasa filled with same same Incompetence and Egos!
Good luck to the 1st level employees. They deserve better things in life than NOV!

I agree the HR Manager at 8018 Breen was the BEST EVER. I know for a fact because I was her assistant and very sad everyday about leaving NOV from the day I got laid off on July 14th. Wish all from 8018 there best of luck.

Think that Lebanese magi spread to the UK too, we had one as VP and he was clueless but thought he was the best, even calls himself charismatic on one of his profiles, what a joke

Between the ten plant managers, the impotent production managers, Jalalabad trying to do a time study, supervisors fresh out on parole, and the clueless help straight from the metro bus, it’s a wonder that place survived the 5 years it did before PV Fluids and Abaco ran them not only out of Houston but out of the country.

The last folks at Breen now are the best of them. Many with 15+ and 20+ years of experience. Glad to see some of the long service folks getting jobs in other plants.

I guess making rotor & stators are different than making Goodman air-conditioners!

I worked at the Willis facility from 98 thru 2015
Started my career with Robbins and Myers in 1980
It was a great company until NOV bought us out.
Great memories and great people!! Wishing nothing but the best for all those losing their jobs...but there is light at the end of the tunnel!!
Keep pushing forward!!

Same with the UK Mono Pump business. Got rid of all the good people with experience and continue to run it into the ground, NOV, same the world over.

I was in a different division and NOV has such stupid management. They did ruin a lot of R&M businesses. We were the leaders in a lot of our product. They ran it to the ground.

NOV thought they were better sms knew more than Robbins & Myers.

Time has shown that was not true.

Having worked there, if you were an outsider it was very unwelcoming.

The person who worked the front desk inserted themselves in everything and bragged about getting people fired.

Many people wouldn’t make eye contact with you.

Incorrect reports. Horrible set up for service orders. Operations teams that hated work related questions and approached any inquiry as an accusation versus just trying to get information.

It was my most unwelcomed experience at NOV and that includes WSS.

I feel bad for the shop workers; they didn’t deserve the front office incompetence.
