Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Closing Stores

If your store is closing this year, have you had any in store visits from anyone in HR? It would be a nice courtesy if HR stopped in to answer the many questions the associates have about their future. What about transfers, health benefits, cobra and more specifics on the retention bonus?

Ok, Full Timers....PLEASE USE YOUR PERSONAL DAYS AND SICK DAYS. You will not get paid if they let you go.
Full timers-non management
You get 1 week for every year up to 10 weeks.
You will get paid your owed vacation and holidays.
This severance will be 1 check and taxed at 37 percent, but not until you sign your agreement.
And it will be calculated at 35 hrs for each week not 40.
Cobra will start after they receive your signed packet.
I hope this helps.

There was no “visit” or company notice when they laid off 2800 people. They have over 160 more stores to close. IF you are offered a severance package, all info will be in your packet, under your pink slip of course.

Good idea in theory but due to the number of stores and traveling restrictions due to Covid would not be wise either cost or safety wise. 85 Zoom calls could be an option.

It's going to be "supply & demand" basically. If the need of store personnel at another location is warranted, you may be offered it.

I wouldn't count on a transfer if you are full time wouldn't make sense.
