Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

How about that Q2 earnings report?

Looks like MT knows what he’s doing after all. Who knew BBBY could be better without all you whining, dead-weight profitability k–lers?

Anybody can make extreme cuts to a company and make it look profitable in the short term. The test will come with sustainability over time.

Laying off thousands of people and not counting who is being let go in January because their jobs are being outsourced to India is fantastic! I wonder how the public would feel about shopping at a company that is eliminating jobs here and replacing them with half-priced seat fillers from overseas. Great decision during a pandemic. It's disgusting.

Just a reminder folks...there are more stores on the closing list. I'm sure that it will take place after the start of the New .

It's a smoke screen. Its an illusion to buy time for a dying company. The choices this company has made is not sustainable and customers have been realizing that. Just read any platform of social media that BBB is in. It is filled with customer complaints more than anything, and the changes and "improvements" they're making is just a song and dance for investors to think they're in a better spot than they're in.

I never touch caffeine. I just find it insulting to people who lost their jobs to kick them further down the stairs by telling them they are the reason bloodbath did poorly. I was not one of those people and in fact have written about a ft slug who is still employed by bbby and his asm who is currently begging fired clerks to come back because of it. Part time.

You make a ton of assumptions I find the replies hilarious. My religion is nature. My status seems to be limbo as I do not want to commit a ton of hours to the train wreck inside the stores. I have about 4 former asms and a dm who will attest to my hard work for them, but I know the ephemeral nature of retail very well. I was actually good at softside and liked helping people but you are right in thinking I was better off in SOME aspects of social services. On the other hand, you kid yourself if you think any area of work is free of politics.

I do not drink Red Bull. I do not sing kumbaya if I feel someone has been insulted. I was insulted at bbby for having to do the work of the ft slug plus my own. And mt chucks two people who should have been retained while keeping a lazy slug?

If you question my right to call this person a slug, you can also ask the asms about it as he IS a slug.

I have inner happiness . Next question is why YOU should care? It was once pointed out by a Hiroshima survivor that the peace activists she saw tended to be very angry andnof peaceful at all.

I am just calling out a blanket statement. Not all the incompetants were laid off and not all the laid off people were incompetent. Some were very good. It's my right to point this out.

Now i have to go have a red bull and meditate.

How does this make MT a genius, exactly? Are you one of those shareholders who reckon you can F the poor and make money off them?

Oh, I know retail, junior, and I avoided it at all costs for years. I am not taking it personally, just sitting back watching the sh–show. I was not the person ranting at the ASM, but she deserved it.

Stock is up again, but ask all those DMs and such who quit if they care. They sold their stock years ago when they left the place. And that is still the intelligent thing to do. ,

It's not just rent that they did not pay. There is no one there that knows how to do CIP. The vendors are stopping shipments of goods. I guess the old phrase sell what you got can take on new meaning. They saved a lot of money getting rid of everyone in operations that knew how to pay the bills / po's. Their numbers will be up for a little while. Just wait, the vendors will require payment at some time.

"He does not care about the in store business. It is all about on line shopping ! Only a handful of stores will be left standing. Such a shame !!!!"

With any business you look how you can expand financially. of course it's all about online it's the only way this company is ever gonna expand in sales and stay relevant!!!
Nobody this company sunk so bad. You have a store level management team that can't see pass the 4 walls in their stores.

"You tell me if you define success and profitability as chucking a ton of good people and closing 200 stores to improve profit margins."
Why would anyone want to keep underperforming stores with lease that are ready to exp? Especially with a company that needs to stay a float and be relevant in today's business market. You are taking it personal when it's RETAIL!!! Either you close 200 to save 800 or close all stores. It's a publicly traded company. Company has to answer to share holders. Once again you want stability GET OUT OF RETAIL.

Even our new hires are looking for different jobs. You seriously think you are going to find good help at $8/hr? Those second quarter numbers won't last long.

I'm sure all 2800 of you can now sell your stock ar half the purchase price and the clown above can keep thinking it's a wonderful place to work while slamming you for getting laid off. Nice job, sycophant.

Meanwhile i am hearing of slave driver ASM getting a new anus from people being there over a year and older employees still leaving. You tell me if you define success and profitability as chucking a ton of good people and closing 200 stores to improve profit margins.
