Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

SeekingAlpha Article interesting numbers

SeekingAlpha has an interesting article on it with some numbers I hasn't seen or heard yet. They seem to disagree a little with what I've been hearing elsewhere.

Specifically I'm interested to know if the article is generalizing when it says the majority of the cuts are to take place in October, or not.

Some friends in HR got laid off last week here in Findlay and elsewhere, and they told me it was more than a just a few.

MPC isn’t done laying off because they haven’t laid off from the HR organization yet.

I got intel from reliable Findlay sources that it’s a total of 6200 between now and 12/1. 😩

The comment about the majority of notifications being in October looks like it came from the 8-K filing:
"MPC expects the majority of its affected employees will be notified by October 1, 2020. MPC had previously issued notifications to affected salaried and union-represented employees at its Martinez and Gallup refineries. As of the date hereof, MPC expects the majority of the job eliminations pursuant to the planned workforce reductions to take effect in October 2020."

A lot of people in our plant are being separated by October 16. Some groups got notifications for October 30 and November separations. There's also a December separation date.
