$5m was just phase I. Chunk announced a whole of new measures a couple of weeks back.
Was it really $100m donation or just $5m?
Im so glad I left Cisco when I did. No company is perfect, but there are those that are well managed and those that are not. Cisco has been circling the drain for years and the politics/showmanship and #1 best place to work is all smoke and mirrors. The grass IS greener if you are still looking out from the over worked fields of Cisco. I have many friends still at the company and I worry for them regularly :(
I was so grateful to get in this company 5 years ago. Now, I can't wait to get out. The internal culture is toxic and has soured my original impressions.
It's called a distraction. Politicians and corporations use them to not focus on real issues. Cisco missed out on the cloud and enterprise software. Best way to distract is to focus on SJW issues.
Cisco is quietly replacing employees in San Jose and North Carolina with H1B visas, temp workers, or outsourcing to cheaper countries. The management consultant playbook indicates to Divide & Distract employees during continuous layoffs. Pit employees against each other with diversity or cultural issues.

If you can't grown your business, you can at least be loved by the SJW crowd. It's a very fashionable trend these days.

They're just trying to buy another quarter/year of shareholders being clueless to the fact that the ELT blew all the money to invest in future technologies on stock buy backs. Just a few million more of stock options please!

This is a common trend of companies that are stalling. Lack of focus on the core business and more emphasis on showmanship and virtue signaling. You cannot change Cisco, but you can change yourself and your situation.
