Managers do not have technical skills or current/ trending industry knowledge. The IoT is moving faster than ever in all industries. NCR will fail by keeping high-paid bonuses managers. Senior management is not thinking of this - only about lining their pockets. This is NOT business as usual.

NCR isn’t what it used to be. I just gave my notice, as I want nothing to do with a company with no moral compass. I’ll find work elsewhere.

Yeah, I was RIF'd by NCR too on 10/1/2020. Caught me completely off-guard. I was only one in my immediate work group within Prof Svcs, but spoke w/ another associate working in a different group, and she too was let go. I'd been doing a good job and had a good reputation, but I'm sure the new boss was told to cut money, head-count, or both. Just came down to numbers. I heard there was a big layoff in Cebu, Philippines. Offered a severance of 3-mos pay, but that will only go so far.

Ride the wave while you can but look for other opportunities. As I found when I rifted the pay is lower when looking for other opportunities available. I would suggest going to small company compared to a global one. Pay would be the same. Techs are very talented and corporation don’t care but a small company will treat your talents better. Hell I applied for a job as appliance tech and was looked at like I was gold in their pocket. Same pay as other tech companies were going to start to pay me. But then those were big name companies with the same issues. I didn’t take the appliances repair job went with another more challenging but unfortunately got hurt and now on disability.
Anyway I did well in testing for becton dickinson tech but was overlook I assume due to age only 2 others passed and they were in their 20s. But look at some companies that build those machines you see in hospitals that dispenses what they nurse requested. Those guys with overtime are making over 100k in my area. Without overtime your still looking at 50-60k. Good luck

Sure, “RIF”, but they are “hiring” too. It makes me sick how very senior people are being treated.
