After 7 years of loyalty pratt said goodbye to me this morning. Did not receive any package other than 4 weeks of pay. I did enjoy my time with pratt. It’s time to start over. Manufacturing is dead in Connecticut. Most likely moving to Georgia or North Carolina. I am not angry on the company like others here. It’s ugly job market in CT. I would tell everyone who’s let go off, move move move and you will be better off ! It will be impossible to find a job in CT unless you are in technology. God bless everyone

Wow I am sorry.
Good luck to you and thank you for sharing. Not to sound Insensitive but do they payout lump sum 4 weeks for severance, or is it distributed on regular pay weeks?
A month in severance is terrible if that’s the standard payout, especially if you’ve been with company 10 years or more. The only positive is you’ll be able to collect unemployment.
so sorry - godspeed

this is very true

I appreciate the positivity during these times. I don’t believe Pratt owes employees anything, and neither does the employee owe Pratt anything. When you are employed, your goal is to gain experience and knowledge to build a resume that will help you get another job in the future. If Pratt has done that, then no hard feelings.
Just like an emergency fund, be prepared. I suggest everyone fix up their resume and start networking either on indeed or LinkedIn.
And layoffs this year isn’t the end. We have a few years of recovery... meaning layoffs, low merit and possible furloughs for next year. You have to decide if Pratt is worth it to you.
sorry to hear. good luck to you OP
i have to ask: you are the 2nd or 3rd person reporting being cut but still happy with the company overall. wondering if that sentiment is towards middle management, executives, co-workers, how the company is handling layoffs, or something else? very curious b/c most ppl on this forum seem upset with how the situation is playing out
Best of luck and thanks for sharing. Keep your head up and things will turn out fine (and probably even better)!!
Some managers said the ISP would be not too different than the July VSP. If the one month thing holds, that stinks for those who hung on.
Any medical or dental coverage ?
EH aftermarket ?
Good luck. Second person to say one months pay so that seems to be what we can look forward to. That is pretty pathetic
