I know layoffs have started at several location, but we still haven't heard anything. Can anybody affected please share some details? Mostly how do they inform you and what's the severance package? Is it the usual or have they reduced it and used the pandemic as an excuse?

Folks are being told that their jobs have been abolished. Then they are bumping supervisors back and filling those spots. What a chicken sh– way of doing things. Find the sorry supervisor in the bunch and lay them off. This company has always been top heavy. 3 supervisors to every 1 field guy. Besides they are getting paid double what the field hands are getting paid.
Yeah they are being replaced with guys from Ohio and one of them just happens to be a supervisors son who knows nothing.
We were lucky to lose only three Field Operators in SW PA today, although we are severely short staffed. The kicker was that these employees are being replaced by employees from Ohio. One was already in today for his "interview."
So an employee (Gas Plant Operator) got a call from his Plant Manager at 1pm today (while he was sleeping) and was told to not report for his scheduled shift this evening. He was told he has a Skype call with the area manager at 6am tomorrow morning. The Plant Manager told the employee he didn't know what the call was about. I used to have respect for this man...does he think we are that stupid?!?! No class.
The Company is laying off (Reduction in Force) somewhere around 20% to 25% of the organization. Too bad we are all getting shafted because of bad acquisitions with Andeavor and Western. Wishing everyone impacted the best of luck as they work through the bad news. Can’t wait for 2020 to be history.
Layoffs in Canton somewhere between 10 and 15 people all salary people.
It’s a shame that Marathon doesn’t shed some of the boat anchors near the top of the IT organization (Ramon Grimaldo comes to mind). The Company would do well to sift the wheat from the tares and then roll up the sleeves to make some progress with basic blocking and tackling. Hats off to those that can make the tough decisions but let’s be realistic and acknowledge that many leaders are too busy politicking their way around the organization so they can retain power while doing absolutely nothing to help the Company.
Layoffs in Canton all salary
Yes, Marathon Management doesn’t have enough respect to tell you to your face. They will call with HR and tell you due to Covid your position is no longer needed. Not Surprised though a bunch of cowards. Just running the company into the ground.
We were told all the cuts would be complete by end of year. Could be waves of this junk coming through the next month or so.
I thought they said the layoffs would go until Thursday, if you make it until Friday you're probably safe.
Does anyone know an end date? Is it Friday? If we don't hear anything by then does that mean we are safe?
More coming
They are sending text messages telling people they are being terminated and will be receiving a phone call.
What is going on at the findlay, ohio plant?
My understanding is 1800 to be laid off (600 from AZ), The rest will start at retirement age and work down.
Will they continue into tomorrow or is it over?
Don't know why they say nothing in PA a lot were layer off here.
20 so far in Los Angeles.
Nothing in PA yet.
Layoffs in Denver
I know several engineers, a couple terminal managers, safety, terminal services all got hit. Heard it will be going on for the next couple days. Any other rumors?
Severance is 2 weeks pay for every year of service. There are also other caveats if you have less than 5 years. I know a guy who got laid off today. He was the only one in that particular office. They told him that it wasn't for cause but seems to be real discriminatory. He was one of the best hands they had.
Folks if you do get laid off, be sure and ask for a copy of your personnel file. They can't keep you from getting it.
I know at least 400 got laid off in Findlay today.
Marathon Cadiz, Utica Ohio Gathering just laid off 8 operators this morning.
One so far in Griffith
My brother-in-law was called on the phone this morning and told his position had been cut due to lack of work and COVID-19.
This was the Cattletsburg, KY refinery.
Rumor is 30 at Catlettsburg, 8 in engineering that we know of
This is so stressful! I'm worried for myself and for friends and coworkers. Just heard from 1 friend she was told not to worry by her boss' boss.
What is the expectation for people whose separation date is over 2 weeks away?
Look on the home page, there is a button on the top right.
There's a teamview page on the MPCConnect home page that goes over all the details. At least here, it looks like people are just being given termination letters with a separation date on them.
