Just to add some reality to this thread, his son is very competent, intelligent, insightful and a hard worker. As already stated, he doesn’t play the ‘dad card’.
If he gets a job in R4 it’s because he’s much better than his peers at the same PSG.
Ok just imagine you are JG’s kids supervisor.
Can you give him a 2- (even if he deserves it)?
Or are you better off making it a 2+ and being good pals with him?
Think a bit and understand how corrosive nepotism (even the appearance of) is.
I guess the lesson here is highly qualified relatives of employees, particularly higher up, need not apply or else you will be harassed and ridiculed. Now on the other hand if you are from a minority demographic, you only need to show up, can do nothing, and you will be pandered to and have a cushy job for life.
Thanks Dad. I love you.
I happen to know his son only because we work (or did work) on the same floor. I have not heard him use his last name or father's name to his advantage. Take that however you wish. His son is educated and I am not just saying he is book smart. He is very knowledgeable and from what I have a seen a diligent and hard worker. Once again, just my two cents. I don't know that I have ever posted on this site but felt he was worth making a post. Last but not least, I would not be ashamed if my kids one day worked with me at one of the majors. Who that his kids would not want to help them in any way shape or from as long as it is done morally and ethically?
Lot of “low-po nepo” people at CVX.
His son recently bought a million dollar house (public records) in Houston. It's nice to have family connections
Poor kid.
Take a look at Wells for nepotism. Bet they’ll all be here on the other side of October.
Nepotism and special accommodations are nothing new. Former CBRES pres allowed an “intern” who already was out of college. Why? ‘Cause he and daddy were buds. Guess what? That intern then got hired and is still around riding coattails. Some sh1! Never changes
Yes, managers are scared to even consider it. Their livelihoods are on the line.
All VP have their kids in CVX, they r brought in as interns n kept on a pedestal when they join as FTE.. even now during Transformation they r kept safe n well protected cos papa said so.. lol
That bother's you? LOL!
I am betting double promo. Every midlevel manager has started looking towards layoffs in the next 18 months. Those layoffs will be much quicker than these.
In this case we will know if nepotism overrides diversity & inclusion. He is early career with nothing to really show but a last name. Also does he really need the money?
I’m sure the inclusion counselors will be fair and balanced.
