Thread regarding Pratt and Whitney layoffs

I'm afraid to log in every morning

Can they just get this over with? My sleep has been total c-ap.

What's your educational and work background? I can't even find anything to apply to.

I dunno, all this time has given me the opportunity to get the resume out there. Got some interviews scheduled for this week. If anything looks halfway decent, I'm outta here.

It's easy to prove in court, walk in, bring your drool cup, pop in your Walmart halloween toofies. And tell them you have a "tingle-ine' feeling running down your leg.
You will be in like flint. And Bob's your uncle and Fannie's your aunt. Happy as Larry.

Creation of a hostile work environment perhaps? The creation of new legal ground.

Individually yes, but a group law suit can become big... Plus just the impact to the reputation of the company is enough for them to yield and settle the dispute by giving money... these days mental health is considered very important and nobody wants to be considered a toxic work environment

Anyone who sues will be wasting their time. Pratt has great lawyers and there isn’t a care anyway

Lawsuits cost money regardless of the outcome, and just because a case may not have merit doesn't mean an employee and their ambulance-chasing lawyer won't still try to sue the company.

I really don’t think you’d have a case by claiming it was mentally affecting people. That’s quite hard to prove in court objectively.

Sure, but that's not the issue here.
The issue is lack of communication which is impacting people's mental health. Like when your employees get their layoff news from media before internal announcement, that's bad management right there which is impacting people with uncertainties about their financial situation in these hard times.

There is no case for a lawsuit here. Based on the numbers, isn’t it more likely that you won’t be laid off?

Everyday employed is better than not being employed, but I feel your frustration.

they are lucky if the company doesnt see any lawsuits for putting employees through this mess.Couldnt of handled the situation any worse than they have. hoping it happens soon so everyone can move on with their lives
