The shear amount of dysfunction at PepsiCo as a whole is quite disturbing. Whether it is discrimination against women, ageism, ethnicity, position/level as well as intimidation, bullying and most frightening; the conduct of senior level executives who laugh at code of conduct as they spend against compliance, share the wealth via the smiles or gift card giving, even to the extend of kick backs from outside vendors to “win” bids. We all know this to be true. As many people have spoken up fearlessly to bring these practices to light; the internal powers dismiss them as disgruntled employees or even worse just look the other way. Most do result in firing or “early retirement” of the employee speaking up.
Sadly those who do leave opt for a bonus and sign away their rights to help those left behind. I don’t blame them, money makes the world go round. Human Resources as stated over and over, repeatedly does not work for the employees - they work for management. There is literally no place safe to actually protect or warn co-workers of these abuses except for a blog like this site which actually is another resource for management and Human Resources to monitor, reply with non facts and report back their suspicions of who the post may be from.
Human Resources, just like all of us, just want to keep their jobs so they attach to a senior leader and are protected as they assist in the cover ups of so many incidents of horrific behavior and abuses.
I will not go into specifics as they will all be dismissed her by the HR club. These involve acts of physical abuse, verbal abuse, denied requests to move to a new job, stealing company money, violations of medical leave, violations of HIPPA laws and so much more.
A perfect example is sadly how an infected employee with COVID-19 name, activities, and presumed guilt in catching the disease outside work are widely distributed via emails and unthinkable comments are made by managers, HR and SLT. ESSENTIAL WORKERS WHO PUT THEIR LIVES AND HEALTH OF THEIR FAMILIES IN JEOPARDY TO KEEP THE SUPPLY CHAIN MOVING are discussed, some resulting in termination. Yet managers can play golf and use corporate American Express cards on weekends as they discredit and chastise an employee working extra hours to keep Pepsi making profits and keep their bonuses rolling it.
The system needs to be fixed. Management needs to be held accountable and get rid of these SLT to truly show employees you are on our side. Each time an incident of obvious abuses takes place it is covered up, spun in a new direction, or pushed under the rug.
I know these grievances amount to nothing in a forum such as this one until equality and legal loopholes are fixed. Which sadly will never occur in corporate America. Only way this can change is by one step at a time. Make an example of those senior leaders who are known broadly to NOT abide by the Code of Compliance. Review prior speak up complaints with a fresh unbiased view. Show the low level employees we are the heart of Pepsi and the reason our company is successful. WE ARE PEPSI! We deserve respect, monetary incentives and most important, a safe environment to work with out fear and intimidation!
Now the mean comments can begin!!
