Agreed on a lot of the points here (especially ACS) but let’s remember that M&A isn’t done so as to maintain two companies, reporting structures, etc.

There’s plenty to see wrong with these acquisitions but I get a chuckle at every post saying, “Don’t hear about them anymore, so you?!”

  • No, because, I mean, they’ve been acquired and merged into Xerox, lol. That’s sort of the point. Again, caveat that I don’t mean to say the merger was positive for either party.

Also @mzx you deserve recognition.

@xlf+17ZR4xPU they purchased Impika so some very narcissistic high level managers could get vacations on the French Riviera. That was a disaster if I ever saw one. Those mo–ns would sell a product and not be able to deliver a feature on it. How unethical is that?!?

Vader will be different because the CI illuminati bought them. Oh yeah

And the funny part is that is true whether they are hands on or hands off. Tektronix, ACS, GIS. Eventually someone in mgmt decides money can be saved, and down they go. Except for ACS which was already broken which Xerox tried to fix by redirecting all funding to them, it’s usually cost saving bright ideas that bring them down. Which is all CI knows how to do.

Diablo Data Systems was purchased by Xerox in 1972. Believe it is long gone now.

Yep. They really messed up a healthy and profitable business with Tektronix and slowly destroyed it. What a sad thing to see.

ACS/confident, a wounded duck at acquisition, not much different now apparently. Plus this venture enabled Deason to get his claws into X

GIS was NOT a hostile take over. They were willing participants. The owners sold out for a lot of money and in turn Xerox automatically gained market share. GIS has the same problem that older xeroids have in that they can’t let go of ‘how good it used to be’ when money flowed and no one cared and we never innovated and we just STOOD STILL. Yep. The good ole days we are now all paying for. Such unnecessary excess and greed. Yep those were the good ole days 🙄. Cronyism and ‘this is how we always do things’ ruined this company. CI is just taking advantage of the horrible situation and profiting from it.

Scientific Data Systems (SDS). Yeah that was way before your core.

Is this true?

Agreed. Starts with the hostile takeover of G.I.S. Cores. My once successful core is now a shell of itself and losing it's customer base fast.
