Stock up 30% in one month!

I can't wait to hear the doomsday predictors explain this. Move on. Nothing to see here.

Everyone here is unhappy about something. Would all the unhappy people just get on the same page. I guess it is hard to do when some people are short, some people are long, and some people are employees.

What?? Stock up again today? Must be a computer malfunction since C11 is coming next week (it's not). Normally, employees of a company with a rising stock price would be happy. Not the employees posting to this site. Unhappy people make unhappy employees.

The timeframe for going back to normal has been pushed out further into the future due to the surge in COVID. On a positive note, the surges give us plenty of geographical areas for testing the vaccines and other d–gs to combat the virus.

If any of you even know a thing about stocks you would that Pfizer and Moderna announcing a vaccine which they are applying for emergency use grant from the FDA pretty much propped up the entire stock markets on hopes of going back to "normal"

For the post below, I might disagree, but I don't really know what you're talking about. Please try again.

Ichan rode Chesapeake and Hertz all the way to zero so cut the BS. Investors don’t know or care about you, only their money and self interest. $CHK was pumped and dumped by institutional investors minutes before the bankruptcy. The reverse stock split was also a tool they used to get people to think it was safe and then they dumped it again. Come on, man!

The stock is up more than 3.8% today. Looks like the people that invest real money know more about the financial condition of the company than the whiners and complainers on this site. Oh I'm sure they're going to keep on singing the same song. A one and a two and a ...take it away guys.

Stock up again today! Looks like the BOD and EC will keep their jobs, and employees can stay employed. This is good news for all except the complainers on this site. Don't fret though, you can always quit and find some other company to hate.

Correction. People used to have a lot of 401k money in Oxy stock. Now they don’t
because the stock price has gone down. They might as well move it into one of the other choices until the stock moves again and it starts paying dividends. Why doesn’t the company put the 401k match in Chevron stock?

30% of nothing is nothing. 30% of $9 billion is not nothing. More hyperbole.

It’s crazy so many people seem to have large amounts of their 401ks invested in company stock. It’s a terrible decision for many reasons.

1) it’s gambling, not investing
2) you could have the greatest run company but a black swan event occurs
3) your livelihood is already tied to this company with your salary and LTIs - do you really need more exposure
4) investing in oil and gas is marginally better than investing in airlines- how many O&G companies have long term track record of wealth creation; see point 3

30% of nothing is a lot, right op??!

Only at Oxy.

Just about every employee with a 401K has stock that was originally valued at $45. They are not all management, and if the poster below is included, is he referring to his own lack of intelligence? Sounds like it to me.

The stock needs to only rise 10 more points to start exercising the stock warrants. Then we will be living on easy street!

To the person below that is collecting nickels for all the bosses who didn’t respect him - the only thing those bosses have in common is you.

I don't think this have anything to do with pride, but if I owned 10,000 shares of stock at $1.50 and it doubled, yes I would be extremely proud. Do you have a calculator? The point is all those hoping for chapt 11 ( including the dufus who predicted it by Thanksgiving) may have to keep hoping.

Stock price IS up because oil is up. The opposite is also true.

If the stock price were down to $1.50 and went up to $3 would you be proud of that. It is a 100% increase.

Stock price is up because oil price is up. Nothing more than that.

The stock price is not relevant. My manager doesn't give me the respect I deserve. If only I had a nickel for every past boss that had the same attitude. Can I get an amen?
