Thread regarding Walgreens Boots Alliance layoffs

How come they won’t tell us the pay for these new positions? It’s so unfair. I’ve been a ASM for almost 20 years and now this happens..I will most likely have to take a pay cut but not sure how much!!!!

What s—s is these Asm who only have 3 years to retire and get on Medicare. This company does not care about their employees anymore. But let's pay CEO 20 plus million!!!! Really!!! Give that to your local employees instead. They have f..... up so many people's lives. What a Great company!! Don't worry KARMA is coming your way!

If there were any company that needs a union, it's Walgreens. What they expect from their employees is beyond reason.. Work on holidays for straight pay ? What the hell ???? Cut hours of full time employees at will , What ? This company has went downhill since the Walgreen family has been booted out the door..

Why don't they say what the pay is ? Why don't we know what the severance package is ? I've worked for this corrupt company for 20 years and it sure has turned into a sh– show.
Our DM comes into our store and acts like he's the queen of England. I can't wait to leave.

Yeah screw over the workers big time! Pharmacists trying to manage a company, hope the company suffers big time. Amazing it's a pharmacy but that part of the store isn't open 365 days a year only the store part. Hubby is an ASM and he has no idea what the pay cut will be, but it's so lovely being we just bought a house last year.

I posted months ago about these big changes. Pisano is still in control and cutting off everyones head for his own benefit. Leave the company now or get a union!!!! There is no loyalty or support. This company truly s—s!!!!.

Among all asm’s and asmt’s they will pick 2 to 3 for the new position ESM per area and Rx manager position you need to be PTCB certified and have a 1 year experience as pharmacy tech otherwise you have another option to step down as inventory specialist or accept a severance package

Another American corporation screwing over it’s workers. Will not shop at Walgreens.

Is there any truth of a new position called inventory coordinator? How much does it pay in New York?

I think that Walgreens is making a big mistake, I know an asm and has work for Walgreens for 19 years and think that Walgreens should be ashamed of themselves for being so greedy and over working their employees, so shame on Walgreens. I think that they need to have their closed on thanksgiving and Christmas to spend with their families that’s another shame on Walgreens again.

I can't wait to get away from this crazy company.. I give them three years and they will be bankrupt.. There is no way in hell any company can buy all that product and let it walk out the door free.. I want out as bad as they want me out..

Does anyone know what the severance package is ?

The new position is Emerging Store Manager (ESM), so I assume they will implement a requirement that current ASMs be seeking PTCB certification - no more lifers. I also heard they're implementing an RX ASM-type job. eyeroll

SM's cut to one per three stores by March 2021?

Yes, my spouse is an ASM and his store manager confirmed that they are getting rid of his position but said they are creating new positions. So I'm sure it will just be a pay decrease to do the same job. While his manager does nothing!

yes - this call happened yesterday. Prepare to work harder, get paid less, and get less opportunity.
