My position was eliminated and when they notified me I felt nothing but shock. It’s taken me this long to come to grips with it. I still don’t understand why I was targeted, considering I was one of the most productive employees in my area. But I guess it’s their loss. I’ve now moved on and I hope everybody else who was affected did as well.

CF, much like donald trump, is the laughing stock of the tech people in the DMV. No “A” level candidates will want to work at CF, perhaps “B” at best and most will be “C” and “D” levels. Much like the other comment if you look at the leaders nobody wants to work for them. Talk to the top recruiters and agencies in the area, NOT the “fill a role sweat shops” but legit talent placement firms - CF now has a warning label “candidate beware” !
“IT executive leadership” is an oxymoron. Most are NOT technical and majority are not leaders. CF is a great example of how one can add no value and somehow stay there for decades and get promoted.
After a few weeks you will look back and will say Thank You to carefirst for letting me go like I did. At first it was hard but now I have moved on to a better place. The IT Exec Leadership that is there now is not good for the CF vision and does not care about there employees. Too bad it was once a place to brag about.
You're free! Celebrate! You never have to work at CF again! You've escaped a toxic environment and got a severance package! Make the most of it. Don't be bitter, it is what it is. Welcome to the new world of happiness and no stress.
It’s all about $$ if you been there for a long time and have a pension that’s why. They can bring in a young person for half the price now and just give them a new title.
