A Few more weeks until the ASM’s will be taking a big pay hit when they go from the OT hours to 40 hours.

ASM here, was told the same.
The ASM hours are being reduced.
50 to 45 ASM, 45 to 40 for dept sup.(store specific)
The overtime still kicks in after reaching the 45.
Let me point out that it is SHAKING my head (not scratching) and I could NOT care less. Remember they can take away our jobs..but they cannot take away our proper grammar. Assuming we had it in the first place.
When I worked in Idaho, I had one ASM who would be scheduled to work at 12pm, this ASM would come in at 8am and stay till close and leave around 9:30pm after everything was done. The SM would not say anything. This guy was making a massive amount of overtime and taking advantage of the company. I am glad to see BBBY is stopping that. I thought it was b—s— this ASM could do this and both the SM and DM looked the other way.
You obviously do not know about those other industries. Nor do you know anything about the posters who replied to you. You may think you worked your butt off but in reality you probably did not.
To the “head scratcher”. I never said I didn’t expect anything in regards to what I stated. It was purely fact. What p-ss-d me off was the no regard mindset of the scheduling over time. All the industries you mentioned do not Knowingly schedule their workforce with less than 8 hrs rest. Period. I could honestly care less what your thoughts are about my stated work ethic. Your mindset and obvious retail dedication to this dying cause is exactly the reason why I now know my time to escape was well planned. ✌️ Oh yea, enjoy this holiday season, warrior..
I always laugh when people get mad when MANAGERS delegate. I’ve worked for a lot of retailers and they definitely talk about leading at the right level. If you are salary you are to do 50% or more of delegation or management functions. If you are doing less of that and more work provided by hourly TMs you are legally not eligible for salary. That’s why bbb needed to eliminate that role. ASMs used to have the staff to delicate to, and now they don’t. So yes it will take them time to learn. I don’t expect my Salaried SM to to all the tasks I do. I expect her to do the things above my pay grade and let me lead my team of associates while we do the work. I don’t expect her to work pushing my freight 10 hours a day (even tho yes she will be cause she helps all of us)
@ post regarding $15.00 key holders not being able to keep up....I’m one of them...I make slightly over 15 but not much...literally by cents...I’ve been with the company for over a decade and it’s not that we can’t keep up...or that we don’t care as much...it’s that it’s a new and different environment with priorities of the company being much different than what they used to be. So don’t think we lower life forms aren’t trying...we are just getting our new footing like everyone else.
SMH at another person on this board who said they worked their a** off. Seriously..everybody thinks they work their a** off. And as far as missing family events and early/late hours..it is big box retail..what did you expect? Lots of people work early/late/holidays. Healthcare workers, hospitality workers, taxi/ ride share drivers, the list goes on and on. TBH you sound a bit conceited
Funny someone mentioned overpaid assistants. Many were. I for one, was not and can only speak for myself. I earned a solid salary that was broken down into a really good hourly rate in 3/2019. I started with the company in 11/2004 as a temporary associate and worked my a– off to a senior and never looked back. I earned 3-5 times (at least) my salary in TBS orders annually every year. I was ALWAYS on the sales floor and respected my peers and my associates. I dedicated a lot of my life to bbby over those years, including many missed family events and late nights/early mornings. I had a great career but it was time to move on. Started in an industry deemed essential outside retail on 10/05/20 and will always carry those management skills in case I was ever dumb enough to rejoin this industry! 😝
The assistants I worked with were the backbone of the store and worked harder than anyone else. Many had decent salaries because of their background and experience and years of service. They were the ones to step in and step up when the store was in need. The company took advantage of them and did not appreciate their hard work and loyalty. Many stores are running very badly without them since $15.00 keyholders are not able to keep with the demands of the business.
They should be taking a pay cut. They delegate their duties to others so they can sit in the office. Disgusting
It’s funny they’re losing so much. They always thought they made so much. When you break it down by and hourly rate and time and a half they’re grossly overpaid
And the point is?
