I decided to try their services after Allstate threw me out after 16 years of loyal service. They seemed helpful at first although pushy at times regarding resume help and their self build journey program. Then it went all downhill.
The called mid October excitedly stating that they found a job for me that I would be interested and fit my skillset. It was a CD sales job for a generic brokering company for tech and tv enrollments. And the pay was much much lower than I was making before being laid off. I politely declined saying I was not going to be a telemarketer for half the money when I was let go by no fault of my own. The lhh rep seemed shocked by this and told me I needed to consider this position and to "start the journey if getting my life back". WTH? I showed my displeasure with their demeaning tone and soon after ended the call.
Fast forward to yesterday. I went online to submit my weekly unemployment claim and there was a correspondence in my mailbox "requiring" immediate attention. Upon opening it stated that I was not eligible for future weekly claims under this application due to my refusing offered work. I called unemployment this morning all while enjoying almost an hour on hold and was told that lee hecht harrison told them they offered me suitable work and that I refused and that I needed to pay back the last two unemployment payouts back to the time that I refused the work. I explained that the pay and job duties were well below what I could accept and that job was not even with them but a company that I never spoke with and never knew existed. To make a long story short I made an appeal with unemployment and they said I should hear something in a few weeks.
All this while myself and fellow team members who were also let go have yet to receive severance well after 60 days from our final date. HR only states that they are behind when we inquire about severance. Them being behind does not put food on the table or pay the mortgage.
DO NOT use lee harrison Hecht at all. Ignore their repeated calls. Is this the best Allstate can do after throwing you out on the streets?
