The key difference is they didn't accept funding up front; they have government guarantees to purchase $2 billion worth of the vaccine when approved. If you don't think that $2 billion guarantee played a role in fast-tracking the development, you have your head in the sand.

Viruses are typically ended with herd immunity . Not lock downs. People either have immunity from getting the virus or by vaccine.

Pfizer showed that the economy doesn't have to be chained.
You will not have a choice. You will likely be given a date to vaccinate or resign. But Q1 is a stretch for this to happen.
WFH will end when everyone who wants the vaccine can get the vaccine. More likely Q3 2021.
