Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Just a gimmick

Isn't it great that Belk is giving out these $25-$575 gift certificates to its customers before Christmas? Almost like it's trying to hide the fact that it's a dying company that's struggling to stay afloat for a few more months just so the ELT can get their compensations and bonuses. And the rest of us? Are they doing anything for their employees to spread the holiday cheer? Oh right… for us it's 'bah humbug.'

Leaving there was such a relief. My husband is glad because I used to be grumpy, ill, mad and depressed. He says I'm a lot happier person now.

I definitely have PTSD from working there and I left in 2016. I feel sorry for anyone still slogging away in that rat trap.

"And they've already started with that miserable holiday music. I think if I hear Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas one more time Im gonna bust my eardrum with one of those cheap Saddlebred novelty gifts.."

Whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo, ooh! Whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo, ooh! Whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo, ooh!

No worse than that awful, "Simply-eh having-eh, eh wonderful-eh christmastime-eh," from that brat-pop, d–g-addicted Demi Lovato!

What i want to know is are they ever going to open more registers on the floor? I can't blame the customers for being salty about it. It almost as if they dont want any customers shopping in the stores. Make them so aggravated that they just do BOPIS or STH.

They want people to spend money now because in late January the whole country will be in lockdown. Only essential business will be able to open and we will all be unemployed again.

Well, they figure you like the holidays so much that the best gift is to let you work those holidays so you can enjoy them all the more.
