Our Manager said he would let us know if anything good was happening .....Haven’t heard from him in over a year ????

My manager doesn’t know there’s a lockdown in the U.K. and is forcing me to goto work ! Spoke to the customer, they sent me home !
As a core manager, I can tell you that executive team doesn't share much intel. Or President may want it that way. They don't want everyone quitting. I pitch positivity and support to my team, but I do have my own concerns too.
To my executive team, Communication with your employees is important... Do it!!!
They know more than you do.
My department is luckier than most; our manager does (at least to some an degree) and is doing their best to insulate us where they can and has told us to do what is right for us (right at the beginning of the HCL sh** show) and gave us their personal email address to use if we need a reference while we ride this out waiting to hit retirement (not me unfortunately) or find new jobs.
Get back on the pony and beat it with a stock. Do not pay attention that you are in the middle of the stream and the horses nose has been underwater for years. Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes. Keep rearranging the chairs on the titanic hitting the Hindenburg.
With all the sh– going on in the world in 2020, Xerox brings the comic relief on a daily basis. Netflix comedy specials not needed. I get to witness the biggest joke of a company. I anticipate the docuseries on how Xerox turned into a complete sh– show over the last few years will be released soon.
What manager? They let mine go, along with all their knowledge.
We merged with a bigger core who are a complete sh–show, nobody is running the show. Offshore is still only doing part of the work when they should be doing 100% of it. It's a complete and utter joke
All smoke and mirrors
Who can't see the handwriting on the wall or do the math by now?
I always felt like my manager knew, but couldn't say. Most of the upper tier at our core didn't really show their cards, but they have to know. How could you not? I suppose it's a little easier to put forth a poker face with all of us working from home. We all know the sink is sinking, but management acting like everything is fine is truly a disservice to those underneath them.
What’s a manager? Is it the same thing as a puppet?
Not a clue ...
