I worked for Corp for 10+ years and was let go in July with many others. During my last couple of years there, Lisa Harper spoke often of envisioning the stores as distribution centers. That is exactly what she has done, and it is pitiful and devastating. While in the area, I recently visited Belk at the Northlake Mall. The store once beautiful and meticulously maintained was disorganized and looked like Big Lots. The associates appeared ragged(no fault of theirs), only one register open on each level. The line of people at each register were there to return, not purchase. The Private Brands once a pride and joy of Belk were hard to find, and once you did it was a sea of solids. Sycamore and Lisa have crippled this company and the many employees that once worked hard for it’s success. Sad to say, I will not be back to purchase from Belk again, it was such a disappointing experience.

Lisa Harper can’t show her face at any store. She is afraid to face managers and employees because she knows that along with Don Hendricks she has destroyed this company. sadly, they may want the company to go under so they can walk away with millions and move on to their next victim.
You know it's gotten bad when the customers keep asking you if the store is closing down. I'm tempted to say yeah, eventually. Get your Kim Rogers and Saddlebred while you can..
The Associates work hard for their money . Now they don’t make commission is like 25,000 less .that’s a lot of money going back in their pockets while we work like slaves. Stop buying all that cheap crown n Ivy Boycott the Belk stores!!! How do go from making a decent salary to minimum wage. One Day the shoe will be on the other Foot!!!
Nobody gonna lock them up. If company collapses they’ll walk out with multimillion dollars bonuses. That’s how system works.
I have worked for Belk from 2012 to November of 2019 not far from Charlotte and NEVER saw Lisa Harper one time. I know during thanksgiving she is out of the country for two weeks on a tropical island.
Does she visit stores ever? Does anybody on the top goes in stores casually, not during an official visit? Visits are waste of hours - game with the well known rules. Monthly payroll spent in five days to satisfy visitors, hurtful for actual business. So does she get curious what’s happening in stores between pretending visits? Does she care? Does she feel proud and successful or realizes what a failure this “store/distribution center “ concept is?
Don Hendricks has a checkered employment history at best, until he found his home with Sycamore owned retailers. GYMBOREE, Hot Topic and the rest. He is certainly no expert in retail and has ZERO people skills.
We saw this coming a few years ago. People should have started preparing for it. It's just awful working in there and yes those stores are a wreck
Lisa Harper and Don Hendricks are evil people, they don’t believe in family, community, fair business practices, or long term growth. they have made their millions by screwing over people and companies along with Sycamore partners. it’s time to protest and get them the hell out!!
